Some questions

Am looking to install ISTA software. Am somewhat familiar with Forscan, does this mean I don't need another data cable?

Whilst my car has FSH, it's been just oil changes for more than several years. Poking around suggests the suspension is tired, probably worse. Passenger side top mount has split badly, and drivers side is beginning. I haven't got underneath yet, but am willing to bet that the front lower control arm bushes have left the chat. Do I need to replace the whole arm, or is just the bush adequate?

I use catcar.info for my FoMoCo needs, it covers BMW and others, but I'm wondering if there is a better BMW specific website for tracking down parts and their numbers?

Thanks

The lollipop bushes just push on the back of the wishbone. Common wear/failure point and an easy swap. The wishbones only need changing if the ball joints go.

Your forscan cable won't work with ista. The correct cables are on eBay for about £20 if you search for 'inpa usb'. Just make sure it supports e series chassis, as the later ones use a different protocol. Anything that lists E46 will work for the e85.
