Some Pics... Pre- and Post-Eibachs :-)

Just dropped it for it's alignment, should have it back early afternoon. I walked away with a ridiculous feeling of pride after the chap at the workshop told me it looks perfect 'in that colour with those wheels sat just right in the arches'

I had another wee chat with him about the rubbing - he said that they see it all the time and it only takes the trim to be out by a couple of mil for it to happen. The new bumper clips I am getting tomorrow should help keep the front end tighter at the arches, so perhaps that will fix it. He also said that come MOT time the wheels do need to be able to go from lock to lock without rubbing... Said that they usually solve it with column stops, but they do reduce the turning circle slightly. However, I'll see what they say when the MOT comes round in September.

Can't wait to get it back later - I'll post the before and after alignment sheets in the appropriate thread later too

You and I are going to fall out.

I've deliberately avoided proper comparison shots of Eibachs... but I thought I'd just have a little look.

Car now sits how it should, looks so much better. My poor wallet

Gotta love this place

I have to confess, I am avoiding discussing the precise costs with Mrs B :ninja:

HaHa... my cost breakdown:

£146 + £11 shipping (FK Automotive)
£250 fitting (BMW indi)
£60 hunter alignment
£???? Destroyed front bumper as my front fangs bottom out on the smallest gradient slope/ pebble on the road :o

About fecking time Bing, the only person I've hear talk about Eibachs for longer without following through has been Adamski :poke:

(but that was partly my fault for misleading his funds perhaps...)

Car's looking spot on with the wheels and drop in black

It's looking good Bing - welcome to the world of scraped spoilers & advanced speed bump avoidance techniques !

Come on Adamski - you're as slow getting Eibachs fitted as I am with the xenon de ginger / angel eye fix !! Know the feeling though - my funds were redirected in an unplanned fashion too.

Thanks guys - I am loving it. Already clipped the front lip just a smidgen jaxZ4

A11y - only slow because I thought I had a broken spring, bought them, then had £700 of non-spring repairs discovered

The alignment is also done - apparently it was waaaaaaaay out. Should get print-outs of the pre- and post- measurements in a day or so. Feels much tighter, even on the short drive home. Seeing Jembo for a curry tonight, so get a chance for some top down testing in the sunshine

My cost breakdown :

Springs - £50 from a member on here
Fitting - £150 cash
Brake fluid change - included in fitting, result
Alignment - £160

New bumper clips on Thursday, once they are fitted everything will be peachy for my road trip to Scotland with Wee Bing in 10 days time :trampoline:

...unless I break something else whilst taking the bumper off, which I have a track record of...

Car looks great Bing!

Lowering is essential... had mine dropped after a week of ownership.

My bumper often clips the floor on bumps, one wheel on and one off method seems to give best results, or full locking the wheel when over the bump gives a few extra mm clearance.
- In my eyes in an excuse for other cars/people to take in the car!

That is how it happens....! :(

So, the Eibachs are done. That box is ticked.... So, what's next on the list? :poke:

Missed this... List temporarily suspended for now, I am a happy bunny :D

In the future... Still can't get aero skirts out my head, and the dash wrap thing is still there. Need to speak to 2dogs about that actually. Hmmm. May be a short suspension of modding

Ok, I'm sold it looks great!

Is £207 the cheapest I'm going to pay for Eibachs delivered (eBay)

3.0Si if it makes any difference.

I only got mine cheap as they were second hand - came off Kirsty's Alpina originally, so they have class :D

3.0Si is the same as mine so you should get a very similar drop, about 15mm. Can't believe how much better it looks for such a small drop.

Cheers, yea it looks like we have the same model from your sig. It does really enhance the look.

Be interested to hear from anyone if they know of a cheaper source for the springs.

I got mine from:
http://www.carparts-tuning.co.uk/

£154 delivered from Germany.. took 2 days.

Not as far as I am aware - she fitted 19s and was going to the 'Ring... For some reason decided the springs were too low. Sold them on to another member who never fitted them then sold his Z. And now they are mine
