Some low life scratched my Z4 last night....

Hello all

Some s**t head scratched the passenger side of my car last night while I was parked in a local car park. Three long scratches - one one the bottom front wing, another accross the door and a third on the upper rear wing. Not sure how much it's gonna cost to get it resprayed - quite a lot! I assume the entire left side of the car would need to resprayed..

Has anyone had a door and wing resprayed recently? My local BMW dealer has a bodyshop but i don't know whether they actually sub-contract the work to an independant bodyshop or do it themselves?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated..

Btw, the zed is a 2007 3.0si in silver.

Thanks

do bad to hear reports like this - and too many recently

hope it isnt too costly to sort out

How deep are the scratches? BMW bodyshops can charge £500 to fix a 50p-sized dent that needs respray. Try chipaway first. They are much cheaper.

The scratches are quite deep. I hadn't considered chipsaway - I'll give them a call to see what they say.

Does anyone know of any good quality independant bodyshops? Ideally any that do work for main dealers.

It is something I dread finding after leaving my Z alone in a public place. I do notice that other drivers behave differently to me whilst in the Z than when I am in the Golf. It's indicative of the low esteem in which beemer drivers are held by other road users. i.e. just below estate agents. (for some reason)

Hate to see this, I really can't understand people these days. Really, what's the point? It's got to be jealousy, but in that case, take inspiration and work until you too can get a nice car. Don't just f**k up someone elses because you're too lazy to get one for yourself.

Absolute c*nts :x

I feel for you buddy same thing happened to me 2 weeks ago although not quiet as bad by the sounds of it:

Going to have a go at mine with scratch x today and hope it comes out (fingers crossed!), As I said in my post things like this really boil my p*ss! How ppl can blatantly go down the side of your car and not put a note on your window is beyond me :x

Hope ya get it sorted mate and its not too expensive.....

Again, far too many reports of zeds being scratched. soon maybe we'll need a new thread

'Keying- Have you been scratched by some mindless, jealous, scumbag who wrecks other peoples property to make himself feel better, the low life c**ts.'

Some insurance companies (Direct line for example) allow you to claim for vandalism without loosing no claims or no claims protection provided you report it to the police and get a crime reference number - came in handy when a friend had their A5 cabrio keyed along the entire length of the car.

Worth asking your insurance company...
