Fines received in Europe can no longer be chased in the UK as the information exchange is no longer happening 8)

So as long as you don't get stopped en route, you are in the clear.

That does go someway to offsetting the new limits on vin rouge i can carry back , , , , when i can actually get over there that is
Nothing better than departing a 4am ferry or tunnel & having the autoroutes to yourself :driving:

I'm sure they can fine you on the spot. They have chip and pin machines now even in this country. Those DVSA vehicles on the motorways have them :|

I have been ticketed roadside on A roads in rural Normandy , very few questions asked , fined 90eur on the spot , had to pay cash , left to drive away with just a stern look but no paperwork in hand
Rare to see any actual patrol car on northern French autoroutes & ive never seen any police presence of any kind pre 8am driving there 6- 7 times a yr over 20yrs .
Its not like the uk , they don't drive X5s or 330d tourers , they are still tootling around in old Renault Clios :P

On my return from NL I shaved over an hour off on the trip. Lovely 8)
