Some First Impressions of my E86

I am in the exact same place right now. Think I've done about 400-miles since I picked mine up on Saturday. Keep randomly visiting friends who live miles away. Any excuse to go for a drive. I'm getting used to the gear changes - first to second still a bit clunky but pretty smooth through the rest now. The sound was a real surprise to me - I expected disappointingly quiet and refined, not addictively big, loud, and angry.

Glad you're enjoying it! I'm visiting friends down in Plymouth next weekend in mine - looking forward to the A38 :driving:

Haha, yeah, the windy bit on the way back up Haldon Hill is always fun. Although personally if I'm driving between Plymouth and Exeter I'm going over the moor:

Just have to watch out on those blind corners and brows for sheep, cows, ponies and tourists!!

Wow, that looks amazing! Might have to make a detour if I'm not running late! Took 7 hours last time - I literally queued from Warrington on the M6, then down the M5, and hit Bristol at rush hour!

Great write up and good to hear from somebody that's come from a relatively newer type of coupe to an E86. The Storm V1 will transform both the gear change and aesthetics of your interior so is definitely the way to go. On the stereo front they are notoriously iffy when it comes to sound quality but if you don't want to upgrade the speakers and amp etc then play about with the settings. There's a good thread on here somewhere where a resident sound expert worked out the optimum settings.

Enjoy your car. It will remain the love of your life

Cheers :) Yes, I think the Storm will really suit the silver and black thing my interior's got going on, and the shifting sounds great. Will have a look for the settings. I feel kind of bad putting so many miles on such a beautiful car, but I intend to enjoy every last one :D :driving:
