Some advice please? Stuck between XC60 / RR Evoque

4x4s are a waste of space, unless you actually have a farm or live in the Country...

But surely it has to be your on decision?

It ok to be fair , co2 pretty low so its not much worse than a spec'ed estate in the contribution side of things. As the list price is ok to start with Pure starts around 28k, and has everything full leather , pcd , bluetooth , touch screen etc if you go spec mad closer 40k. I think the difference between a 320 M-sport estate and the Evoque is 60 pcm C-class Sport estate difference is only 30 quid pcm. Cash is not an option to be fair as I do to many miles

Go for the Evoque!

My company car is coming up for change so had one for 2 days from Leicester RR, it was the 3 door 4wd diesel really lovely but quite awkward to get in/out the rear for the school run, I specced a 5 door pure but my company wouldn't go with it because of the lead times and no discount off of the list price, :(

Evoque here also. I've test driven one (top of the range petrol) and they are a nice car! I'm tempted also!!

See here: http://www.z4-forum.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=16&t=30361&hilit=evoque

I sold my order last year but wish I hadn't now. I came from a RRS to the Z, would feel weird going back to RR again....but tempted!!

Dont forget that if you tow a caravan like myself especially in the winter months a 4x4 can be a god send and on a few occasions has got me off a muddy site while others have been stuck.

Please, no need to be, :) i can only go by my own experience and the two Landrovers i have owned have been fantastic and %100 reliable.

Cannot see the point of a 4X4 unless you always need to go off road

For the avoidance of doubt...I think they're naff

What else do you suggest i tow a twin axle caravan with?, my brother is a builder and does a lot of ground work, what do you suggest he tows his mini digger with? there is a %85 rule which means whatever is being towed cannot weigh more than %85 of the tow vehicle, which means the kerb weight of a 4x4 is more than often required.
So to banish all 4x4s to "off road" is yet another uninformed comment to be made against 4x4s.

errrr no worries , I do live in the countryside so variable conditions and the weather gets pretty bad :( , with two dogs and a growing family it just like an estate but with a higher ride height which is quite nice especially as Mrs V like being a bit higher up with the very high country lanes hedges its a much additional saftey as anything.......... remember the same logic could be applyed to could be said about sports cars in general Z4’s, 911's, slk, f430 etc...

As I mean there all a waste of money there terrible for the environment and also they use more fuel so are a waste of money unless your a racing car driver as your job why have a car that can do more than 70 mph I mean you cannot even car share? :P same reasons different angle..

Fab car, great styling, great place to put your cash.....and it's an amazing product made in England!

Job well done I say!
