Some advice please? Stuck between XC60 / RR Evoque

Hi Guys

Wanted to see what peoples feeling were on these both, as am really stuck in deciding what to do?

I have just recieved a new job offer, and of course this is a chance to change my wheels  . I have spent last few days reading reviews and also goings to various garages and looking at cars/ test drive not driven the Evoque yet all the other models I have.

I have so far ruled out c-class sport estate, A4 and 3 series and think I want a SUV / Mini 4X4 type car. I really love the M-Sport X3 but the contribution is to much I feel and I think the standard one is not so nice , so now ruled it out as I would want the M-Sport or nothing really.

I have now decided that it will be between 2 the Volvo XC60 and the Range Rover Evoque. Spec and looking at as follows:

Black Volvo XC60 R-Design (163) Drive Model with comfort Pack

Or

Grey or Black - Range Rover Evoque Pure base model altought the Standard Spec is very high.

My head says Volvo and my heart says Evoque Misses loves the Evoque and maybe 55/45 towards the volvo. Both cost about the same contrubution wise so thats not a big player

Has anyone got ones of these or had a smilar sistuation just really interested in people views on these cars.... I suppose my question is more focused on the Evoque as its fairly radical in design more than the XC60

Thanks in advance

Paza

Evoque residuals are unmatched and unrivalled - head and heart should say the Evoque

Starting to be tempted by the Evoque myself... Submitted a request online for the brochure yesterday...

Saw the Evoque in london the other day - must say I almost threw up. Paza are you talking about swapping out your lovely coupe youve just worked so hard to attain and get looking lovely???

If it was a choice between the XC60 and an Evoque, it would be the latter every time, however my first choice would be a Q5

I have ruled the q5 out am not 100% sure about it I just do not get that feeling for Audi's not sure why? even when I have owned a couple. I think unless it was a q7 I would not go for one :(

Evoque every time. Had a Volvo once with all its toys and still felt like an old man in an old car.
I don't think the brand is fully reinvented yet.

I love the Evoque - the Senior RR has always looked, well, too 'senior' to me, and the RR Sport is nice but still not quite right. I've seen a few Evoques around where I am in the last week or two and I really want one - no idea about what it feels like to drive, but it looks fantastic and the interior properly spec'd will be class

We went back to Land Rover today and have booked a test drive. The only thing I cannot decided on now is Black or Grey in colour mmmm :?

Lead times are about 5 months so would not be ready until June time they reckon which is not to bad, so watch this space! :D

Curious.
Not what I was expecting from z4 owners.
I thought the curviness of the Volvo would have more supporters

The reasoning behind 4x4 is that it is important to you that you get wherever you are going. Yet the Volvo and RR have poor reliability (and these two look like a bloated Focus). If you are going 4x4 shouldn't you get something reliable, a Honda, a Toyota or a Nissan?

Okay that was off topic. The Volvo, at least it is a little less Freelander/Focus.

Dont be put off by unreliability stories, LR have come a long way since the days of the Disco 1 and 2 and the Freelander 1, i am on my second Freelander 2 and not missed a beat, never been back to the dealer, quality of materials and fit and finish are excellent, certainly better than my Z Coupe i just bought and a real decent drive.
Toyota bullet proof but dull, dull, dull, to drive, my Nissan just refused to start one day and cost £700 for s/h ecu, cant comment on the Volvo but bit to car like for me, i think if its an SUV you should be sitting up high so for me the Evoque tick all the boxes.

Evoque all day, especially if the cost is similar. Got a lot of hype about it that will keep prices strong

Evoke would be my choice - every time I look at the Volvo, I seek a shocked animal of some kind...
