At the risk of a deluge of knob gags...

Does anyone know for sure if any other BMW models' gear knobs will fit my automatic E85 3.0i ?

There are plenty of used (E46 etc.) knobs on Ebay but the proper part number for the Zed can only be got new it seems.

Anyone replaced an auto knob with a non E85 part before?

I'm sure I looked into this before getting my ZHP

I'm sure there numerous "once size fits all" in Halfrauds, but they wont give an OEM look

Can't be surely? Looks like my knob has a long thin shaft with grooves in beneath the head part that frequents my hand.

I believe in the world of BMW owners all knobs may look the same from a distance but perhaps the length of our individual shafts may differ?

Discuss....

If you look carefully at the second picture on the reflection on the wheel stud you can see what looks like a "knob"

If it were, I'd be seeking assistance from one of Ruby's colleagues. If not carted off in chains first as the car is parked on the street. I must admit though, it's an interesting reflection...

Fill your boots! I posted the pic, I'll take the flack :) TBH after the disastrous weekend when I broke it, a bit of humour is required

The ZHP is a wonderful knob. Nice to hold and shorter for easier shifting.

I did have problems with my knob when first changed (kept coming off in my hand). Pretty firm now though (just required a firm hand to secure).
