I had those a few years ago - just make sure you take them off regularly, especially during the winter. If you leave them on for a long time they can 'fuse' together and get stuck. Should be fine if you check the pressures every week.

You should check your tyre pressures at least one a month. Your tyres are the only four things between the road and the car that keep you safe.

Sorry dad :tumbleweed:

Mate..you spelled "Great Grand-pa" wrong :D

I can't help it...I like metal dust caps- always have! If it wasn't for BMW putting some on my mini a few years ago...I wouldn't have even known they existed!! :)

You lot must hang around some lovely areas!

I've had delightful chrome dust caps for 3 years and never had them nicked.

Have I just cursed myself?

Of course you have - they are now corroded on

I'm a mongrel - I've got 3 metal ones and a 1 plastic one! Never had any theft issues nor corrosion problems either. I can't say I ever look at them unless I'm at the garage checking tyre pressure.

p.s. don't you just hate the US English the Forum software uses - a bloody squiggly red line under tyre? :headbang:

With Alpina's, the valve stems are metal as well as the caps (there is even a parts number for these) - and yes, I know you can get other metal stems - so yes, I'm guilty of having shiny metal caps. Goes with my shiny metal car.

Those M caps (OG - or W caps :D ) are different from some that I have seen as they do need seem to get stuck what so ever. Then again, the car is parked inside and tyres get checked regularly and every week when I was the wheels I turn the caps half a turn left and right again to make sure there is no issue ...

You only clean the wheels when you trade the car in ... :headbang:
