My rear parking sensors have stopped working at all after behaving erratically a few times...

anybody has any ideas what to look for and if anybody faced the same problem ?

What tones if any do you get when you first engage reverse? One long tone then silence or no sound at all.

The most common issue is water in one of the sounders. sometimes you can identify the culprit by ignition on, engage reverse and place your ear on each sensor in turn. Faulty one's often don't click.

long tone when engaging reverse then silence.

figures our one of them dont click anymore, so ordered new one...

what do i need to do to replace ? does the bumper need to come off ?

One long tone is to warn you the system is connected and powered, but not functioning correctly.

Sensor replacement is easier with bumper off, which is only a 5 minute job.

Remeber the FM aerial runs alongs the inside of the bumper so take care not to damage it when opulling the bumper off.

FM Aerial or TV aerial? I thought the thing on the rear wing was the radio Antennae?

Nope - the AM aerial is on the wing and FM aerial across the bumper cover.
That said in poor reception the system can switch to the wing aerial.

Correct, TV antennae in two parts, L & R side of rear bumper. Don't have it either, just spent way to much time looking through WDS. :?

All fixed now,

Ordered sensor from ebay and replaced by removing bumper. Quite easy to do, disconnecting sensor from bumper a bit fiddly...

Storm - I need to do the same as my right most sensor isnt working - could you give any instructions on how to remove the bumper and sensor please?

Tools
Small Flat head screwdriver (2)
Long Nose pliers
8mm Socket and ratchet

Start with wheel arch.
No need to jack car or remove rear wheels, use finger to feel clips and flathead to lift the head of the plastic clip (only need to do one side

Once lifted, again use your 2 hands to place long nose pliers underneath head and pull the bugger out... Do this for all 3 clips in rear right wheel arch.

Undo 5 screws with 8mm socket under bumper taking care not to mix them as 2 centre ones are different and need to go back in same order.

Once you done that, go to side of car near rear wheel and pull bumper edge from wheel arch and it will unclip.

then move to the back of the car closer to the right and hold bottom of bumper and pull towards you holding the side bit as well, it should unclip the top bit and start giving way. Don't yank too hard as the wiring loom will be stretched. At this point, place something underneath the bumper to hold it a bit higher so you got room between the edge of the plastic bumper and the edge of the boot to work. You will need both hands to remove sensor. Torch will help you see what you need to do next.....

Use 2 flathead screwdriver to unclip the sensor, one underneath and one above the sensor itself then it should pull out. It will NOT twist...

Then use flathead again to unclip connector....

Once out, replace then re-connect.... Job done.... simples :driving:

I need to do the same as one of mine is playing up, do you respray the sensor or were you lucky enough to find one the right colour.
