[SOLVED] Are facelift foglights covered under BMW AUC?

Hi All, I need some advice please!

I didn't notice when bought my Z4, but the car had water in the front fogs. I've just had the BMW dealer inspect the car and they told me the fogs weren't covered under the BMW AUC warranty. I explained I've had the car two weeks and this problem obviously existed before I bought it & only I've just noticed it.

I think the service manager is going to talk to the sales guy & sort this out and am hoping it's just a misunderstanding.

Two questions..

a) Are the fogs covered by the BMW AUC warranty?

b) Shouldn't BMW have noticed this and fixed it under the inspection checks before selling it?

Thanks,
John

They are not covered under the auc warranty, only under the 3 year manufactures warranty. Seeing as you only had the car two weeks, the supplying dealer should be be responsible.

Thanks jan_tekin. I hope it'll work out that way.

No question.....irrespective of any supplier warranty they have responsibility for the majority of faults (bar wear and tear obviously) for six months from PoS.

Just a little something from there website

We're confident in the quality of our BMW Approved Used Cars. So confident in fact that if we can't resolve a fault that occurs within the first 30 days or 1,000 miles of your ownership (whichever is sooner), you'll be entitled to an exchange, or refund if an appropriate exchange can't be found.

This doesn't affect your statutory rights.

Got my zed last December 07 plate no water in fog lights 3 weeks ago water in fog lights. Went back to the dealer Williams Stockport, was told not under warranty, but they would contact BMW to sort it out. 3 days later telephone call from Williams all sorted with BMW and new lights fitted F.O.C.
