*SOLVED* Airbag Error 986D

So when I bought my car, I noticed I had an airbag light.

Didn't think too much of it, as I figured it was probably due to the previous owner taking the seat out or what-not to clean the car.

Hooked it up to a Verys code reader, didn't get any codes, couldn't clear them.
Learned I would need to get a cable and DIS v57/SSS/INPA/etc.

Got it in, just recently finished getting everything hooked up, ran INPA to read the errors, of which many were on.
Cleared them all, turned the car on, airbag light went off... And then immediately came back on.
Re-read the errors, and it's coming up with 986D Interruption Detonation Circuit (this is under the Left Side B Pillar category).

My questions are:
A.) Where is this airbag?
B.) What exactly does the error code mean?
C.) How would I fix it?
 
Looks like the left hand side airbag which is in the door. It could be a dud occupancy sensor.

I'm sure somebody will be able to help further. Luckily I've not suffered this one yet so no dealings.
 
That means someone played around in there before, that module wouldn't just unplug by itself. Was it in an accident, or perhaps interior panels removed?
 
Yeah, I know this is resurrecting an old thread but this is where I found the fault on my 20003 Z4. The wiring connector on the N/S "A" pillar was holding a poor contact.
I split the connector and sprayed the two parts with Electrical contact cleaner and the error is gone.
