My report after a 50 mile rip round some of the back country roads around the Dollar, crook of Devon Knockhill area of Fife.
.OOOOOHHHHH YEEEEEESSSS, :driving: :driving: :driving:
.
I have always fancied having a weightier gearknob, ( I promise to attempt to avoid any innuendo :? ) I have looked at the storm works one and such others but have never actually done it, there was always something more important to get, Rims tyres, Basically the exterior asthetics, So when I saw this thread and the pics and spec of the GK, and knowing I was going to be purchasing from an established member of the community I made the purchase with J5, This GK felt perfectly weighted in every gear change, the gear stick is about 3/4 inch shorter with this on and this makes for a much improved feel to the change.
Purchasing from J5 has been simples, and I was offered a full money back no quibbles gaurentee if not completely satisfied.
I have already PM'd J5 to thanks for the great service and to let him know that no matter what he tries he is NOT getting it back.
I am looking forward to my next big Road trip with this latest bit of oomph in the arsenal.

Hi everyone

Thanks for all the interest in the gear knobs :thumbsup:i have tried to reply to everyone with rough prices for the engraved gear knobs but alas iam still awaiting a definite price from the engravers. He is very busy with a big job at the moment and hasn't had time to take a look at it. Iam also visiting another engraver tomorrow to get a price from him to.

As soon as i do i will post the prices on the post for engraved 5 or 6 speed knobs and of course the non engraved ones and probably start a list of people who would like one , this will make it easy for me to manage.

I would also like to get one done 1st and post a picture on here so you all can see what it will look like.

Thanks for being patient

Cheers jonnyfive

Nosa - you'll need to change your signature now. Your car isn't completely stubby free if you have a stubby knob!

:poke:

Awww that's cruel!

Or, with my 4-pot experience are you just worried I'll show you how to drive it properly? :poke:

Looks good  Are you machining it via a CNC lathe? I guess you could knock it up with a manual but the rad and finish must be tricky.

We have 4 cnc engravers and from experience it shouldnt cost too much to knock up a simple fixture and template.

Cheers

Mine arrived very quickly and is fitted. My OE knob came off so easily I was wondering what all the fuss is about. One knee on the seat, in 2nd,one pull ( one hand only ) and off it came. Anything to do with the fact that 25 years of playing rugby has finally been worth it, or have just been a jammy git!!! These things are lovely to look at and use, and the delivery service is second to none. Even my wife likes it, so it must be good. Thanks to Jonnyfive. :driving:
