Solid Evidence - Why the Coupe is better than the Roadster..

I've got to say, once it was upright, it looked better than I thought it would. Z4 = well built.

Bloody hell - I can't believe it wasn't more wrecked :o

In fairness, the only difference between that and a roadster in the same accident would be that we would have Tarmac to fall out the seat onto, rather than headlining. So our hair might be a bit messier... Which is fine, cos you coupe girls need to protect your highlights and extensions, right ?

Extreme way to try and remove the coupe's roof IMO. He'd of been better buying a roadster in the first place!

passenger compartment though was remarkably intact so I don't see why a roadster would have been any worse off.

still a mighty impact though :o

Plowy walked away from his upturned roadster that ended up in a ditch. I've found the thread but no pictures

The Roadster is by all accounts still super solid. The panel above your head is very tough and locked to the front screen cross-member. The front screen cross-member is super solid too. Then back from the roof panel you have the roll hoops which are, err, solid.

The Coupe is tougher still but in these types of accidents it all comes down to the luck of things to a certain extent.

A stray fence post through the screen and you are at the mercy of the toughness of your windscreen in even the toughest cars :(

Best to stay safe and keep it sensible on the roads. Enjoy life while you are here on it and get the roof down. Ahhhh, you can't do that with a Coupe, never mind :D ;)
