Solenoids

What's the story? Car not running well? Lumpy idle? EML on?

Get them out and have a look.

If you're going to replace, don't bother with £20 eBay specials IMO. Proper genuine BMW is the way to go (about £100 each).
 
Clean but swap them over also. If the fault then moves to the exhaust camshaft you know it’s a faulty solenoid.

As I’ve recently had a issue with my exhaust Vanos, cleaned and swapped over and I’m now getting the same code as you on my intake. So I’m about to order new Vanos solenoids.
