2L Z4 SE Black Petrol

MOT ran out Feb 28th so will need to be picked up - would not have forseen any problems on passing

My beloved Z4 was involved in a non fault accident 30th Jan 2022, looks like the front left side panel, bumper and headlight are damaged. will be classed as Cat N. I have attached pics of damage as it is now sat on my drive and the car in all its glory freshly cleaned at my mums :(

Runs perfectly fine, roof works perfect, drives like a dream. I am extremely annoyed it was whipped from me! I do not have the knowledge to get it fixed up and insurance are offering me a retain value and I want to know if anyone is interested in it for fixing or spare/repairs before it goes off (sadly) to salvage! will be a short listing as insurance keen to finalise! Please message if interested!

AUG 2021

Sep 2021
Major service and roof motor recondition at RBM by Ross (forum user) who said it was looking like i had put a lot of work into the underside!

Sad to see damage to a Zed mate. Mine got hit in the same place but I haven't contacted my insurance because I know they'll write it off.

That damage looks completely fixable though. I haven't gotten mine fixed because I have a Maldives Blue z4 and I'm struggling to find the colour wing, but for a black one you'd likely get a wing on ebay for less than 200 quid, new light you could get on the forum and the bumper wouldn't be much more than 150 I'd say.

I'm not sure how set you are on letting the insurance take it (or if you can reverse it now) but might be worth reconsidering it mate.

Although, if you are looking to sell it, I believe you'll need an asking price as per forum rules :)

Thanks for reply and picking me up on posting rules!

I think it is 100% fixable I just do not have the knowledge or mechanic contacts to get it done on the cheap! will be a lovely car for someone and i know someone on here could fix it up easy!

I haven't decided yet on insurance taking it or not they have given me a value but haven't said yes or no yet, wanting to see if its life can be extended on here :)

£1300 ONO

I might be interested in this if I can view it at some point this weekend maybe? Cheltenham isn't that far from me at all.

Hi Rebecca,
I'd have to concur with other forum members. The car is easily fixable. You could ask your local garages to recommend good reputable local body repair garages. This is their bread and butter after all. I personally think your going to regret your decision to sell the car in haste. Why don't you hold fire for a short while, get some quotes and then make a decision.
Obviously, this is just my 2p's worth. I'm very tempted to take it off your hands but I'm going to be on the hunt for a e86.
Whatever you decide, I sincerely hope it's the correct decision for you. Best of luck to you.

Hey!

Thank you! know it could be done pretty easily I am a newbie to all of all the fixing costs & then the selling rigmarole on private sales after, i was tempted just to take insurances written off value but with a little research can see it is worth more than that! I hope to get another one in the future but I have a new job which has a company car so I won't need to keep it either way :) my three options are kind of sell as is / fix then sell / let insurance take it

Trying to stick with the easiest of them all :)

Hi Rebecca,
Can I suggest having a word with Stuart [ref]bigwinn[/ref], who has done many panel swaps for damage like that and the cars have come out the other side looking fine.
He's in Lincoln, but I'm hoping maybe you could sort something out with him which could result in you keeping your car.
Fingers crossed

Edit: If the insurance can do a deal for you to keep it, would that not be a better option?
As you say it's driveable and in good condition and it looks a straightforward fix.

Well Rebecca, I think a very lucky someone is going to get a very cheap e85 at a bargain price. I'd say best of luck, but you'll be batting people away at that price. Take care

Apologies if my recommendation of bigwinn is stepping on your toes. Hadn't read your post at that point and was trying to work out a way that we could help this member keep what is obviously her pride and joy.
If you do get it then I'm sure you'll do it full justice.
Hopefully if a forum member takes it on it will be saved not broken for spares.

Ah well, that's fair enough then. Was wondering if we could help you keep it.
If you pass it on to someone on the forum I would hope you could be more assured that it would be resurrected not broken for spares.
Good luck, whatever the outcome.

Not at all mate. I was the first to suggest to look at getting it fixed! Only makes sense. But if OP wanting to part with it then I'd like to throw my hat in there for it :)

I refuse to believe any rental is better than a Z4! :P

I could even do this evening, just waiting to see if my mate is free for the mini road trip. Weekend works just as well for me though. Let me know what works for you.
