Sold

I can't understand why these have not had any replies (except this). Can anyone give the OP any feedback? Is it the price, colour or what? The OP has no connection with me, I am just curious.

IMO £550 is strong money for 108s. The 108 style don't seem to fetch much money. I've had 2 sets (1 set was on the car when I Bought it, but were desperate for a refurb - so I sold them barely selling for £150), the second set I'd bought were freshly refurbished, new tires, I Sold them from memory a year later (maybe less) with tires having covered about 1000 miles, 7mm tread, still had the new orange line showing and struggled to get £350.

The OPs set are really nice, but when you consider we've seen sets given away on here, I think £550 is a really hard sell, especially with no tires. Just my take on it of course....

Also 108's are a slow ticking time bomb. They are always going to be prone to the two metals reacting and the bubbles appearing at some point.

These look great and appear to be well refurbished. However, it's the purists who will want 108's in order to keep the car original as it rolled out of the factory and black isn't original so they only have a limited market.
My guess would be £350-£400 and they'll shift eventually.

BMW Style 108

Freshly refurbished.

Gloss Black powder coated barrel/lip

Textured Black powder coated centre

All bolts hand polished

Sealed in Carbon Collective Platinum wheels

Brand New good quality reproduction BMW centre caps

£550 collected from Retford or Lincoln depending on day / time of collection.

Can’t understand the lack of interest...... it reads like a Marks & Spencer advert!

Stunning wheels pal.

Nice to see another Cambridge member

As No5 said all black 108's are going to be an acquired taste. I've seen them with black centres and silver outer but not black/black on a car, maybe a picture showing something similar fitted (photo shopped?) would help buyers visualise the look?

Open to serious offers, but the powder coating alone has just cost me £240.

The reason i went with Black is that you can quite easily pick up a set of silver OEM finish ones so i thought i would try something different..

I think by the time you have bought a rough £150 set and then paid for someone to powder coat, polish bolts and re-assemble you could quite easily have ended up spending what these are up for.

The problem with that, is perhaps only 5% of people sourcing 108s WANT black ones, and then you could break that down further by those who want gloss, split colour etc etc.

I'm not disagreeing with your price btw - but I suspect your expectation may be a little high. Others here are only trying to help as many of us have seen dozens of 108s come and go for sale so have a good reference of what they go for.

You should consider putting them on eBay or something, I know there's fees, but you're more likely to get closer to your asking price I think.

Again, many many sets go for £350 inc tires in almost perfect condition (some recently refurbed too)... others that were in need of a refurb were given away for free. If you were planning to sell them prior to the refurb, I would've sold them without the refurb.... I think you'll find you'll really struggle to recoup that cost.

In fact, Mr Tidy is selling a decent set with tires (Albeit run flats) for £325

Just my 2 pence worth anyways :)

Thanks for your 2p worth, guess i'll just have to hold out for the 5%

Already on eBay.

As before any serious offers.. fire them over.

My tuppence: Someone will come along who wants them in that finish and will pay that price. Just a matter of waiting

Agreed.

They look lovely and in time they'll go! Had the same thing myself with a set of gloss black Mini Cooper wheels. I'd put them on gumtree too if they're not already?
