I'm surprised that you're able to first post an advert, on other member forums you need at least 20 before you are allowed.

Admin? Maybe a tweak is required?

It's bad form to do so, but we agreed to allow such for Z4 items as it may benefit someone here.

why do we all moan when someone joins to sell???

to solve the issue simple put a post count minimum on or min of 6 months membership. You'll never have the issue again, instead we all moan when people come to a z4 forum to sell z4 bits, which is exactly what id do if i was in their position.

I guess we would all snap up a bargain regardless of the number of posts the new seller had registered. Perhaps this price is a Black Friday special, due to go up to £1,000 at midnight?. Best of luck with your sale.

Thank you for viewing the post, it is now sold. A forum member was very happy with his purchase.
I was disappointed with some responses from forum members as i quite rightly signed up as a newbie. I was selling it for my wife who also isn't a forum member. It made logical sense for me to post a z4 item within a z4 buying/selling forum, enabling true z4 owners to benefit and for me to have a 'true' target market.
Having a rule of not being able to post a item for sale for newbies doesn't benefit anyone.

Mario,

I think you miss the point. The Forum is not a profit making set up but run by some excellent volunteers for the benefit of Zed enthusiasts. It's not E bay or an Internet selling site but the opportunity for active members to sell on articles of interest to others. I am happy that you sold you hard top but you have benefited from a site that a lot of people enjoy and put a lot of effort into maintaining for others but at the same time, for you, putting absolutely nothing back in return for opportunity to use it to sell not for yourself but someone else. There is no rule about Newbies not being able to sell but I and perhaps others expect people who join to respect the site for what it is and not merely a free extension of E bay for personal gain.

Perhaps you would like to make a small donation to the running of the site for the 'one of' benefit you have gained - perhaps 5% of the sale you achieved - but I doubt it........

AlanJ thanks for your words of wisdom and doubt, but I already donated to the forum post selling the hardtop. As a 'moderator' I expect better of you

Mauri - As you are not a real member of the Forum and never have been your comments on my role as a moderator is both crass and frankly insulting. :violent1:

How disappointing that you cannot see that you have merely used the Forum for your own or anothers financial gain. :(

Your attitude is perhaps a reflection and confirmation of many of the social ills that are unfortunately reflected in aspects of society today. :fuelfire:

I attach a link to E Bay for your future use........ :poke:

Very constructive Alan, is that how you gained a high post rating from posting such irrelevant comments, keep it up. Bottom line is a forum member has benefit and likewise so has the forum via donation and the hardtop is sold, so get over it and save your energy for more important things in life.

I don't see a problem with it.

A forum member has bought something at a decent price and not vastly inflated ebay prices.

Seems like you're all getting your knickers in a twist over nothing. You're like a bunch of old biddies trying to get annoyed at something that doesn't matter. Kinda like the pc brigade.

If he made a donation to the forum on completion of the sale I think that was a very kind goodwill gesture. IMO i think people are making a mounting out of a mole hill.

At the end of the day a forum member has benefited just as much as the seller as they have the item they wanted at a price they must have been happy to pay.

We must have commented at the same time there Ben! totally agree with you

Regardless of your "donation" we all donate knowledge experience and support to this forum and joining to sell an item whilst beneficial to the purchaser shows that you have no intention of supporting a forum that has provided a platform for others to resolve issues and problems. Supplied I add at the convenience of the forum owner and moderators who give their time and effort for free.

Just bad show in a forum of like minded enthusiasts.

Thanks nelly, I do appreciate the maintenance and work put into such forums; I reviewed the forum rules before posting and I don't see where I am in breach. I just find it embarrassing that some members/moderators want to moan about posts by newbies selling items; Such 'complaining' members are not bigger than the forum; members will continue to purchase items posted from newbies or long standing members if it is of benefit.
I'm sure this isn't the first time this has happened and won't be the last, unless the forum rules change.

Right, what else can I sell :)
