** SOLD ** Z4 2.0 SE aka The Batmobile for sale

We are selling our treasured zed after just under 4 years of fun. Reason for sale is that we are getting a new Z4. I am expecting a delivery on the new car around mid September and would like to time the sale to fit with this. Apart form the usual specs of this model I have detailed below the extras:

BMW Z4 2.0 SE 2005 Sapphire black. Manual 6 speed transmission. She has done 52700 miles at the time of writing. HPI clear.

Full service history with stamped log book (first Inspection services 1 & 2 done at BMW dealerships). Last Inspection 1 service done at an independent 30th July 2013 with new front brakes.

Black leather interior with BMW black leather wind deflector/seat head fitting.

Upgraded OEM BMW clear indicator lamps front and rear with 6000K head lamps with high intensity discharge bulbs giving a pure white beam (compliant with MOT regulations).

Uprated Spax sports suspension coils giving a 30mm ride height drop and better handling

Flashremapping ECU remap giving an extra 20 BHP (not a huge effect on 0-62 but nice extra kick in the mid range).

Upgraded 18 inch Fondmetal five spoke nickel/black alloys (the Batman effect  ) with wider rear 255/35 tyres and 225/40 front tyre. Rear treads are borderline so I will be changing these to new Falkens shortly).

Getting a new MOT once tyres are changed so this will be almost a year long.

Asking price is £6500

The bat logo can be easily removed upon request!

Cheers :) :D

How are the hid compliant with MOT if you dont have headlight washers or autolevelling?

Looks nice and shiny!
Good luck with the sale.

Emmmm it passed every MOT with the HID fitted on 3 consecutive MOTs....... :D Thanks!

That's because an MOT doesn't check bulb type.

They are in fact still illegal, just not an MOT fail. Ask you local MOT guy

Wow! Bring on the lawsuit for the HID debate. C'mon guys. I am trying to sell a car please! To any interested buyers I will very happily replace the HIDs with standard halogens no problem and my sincere apologies in stating the HIDs were MOT 'compliant'- my mistake.

I was simply offering some reassurance that the HIDs wouldn't lead to a fail in an MOT which I felt was a reasonable statement.

I have been a specialist doctor of emergency medicine for the last 17 years and deal with road traffic accident trauma on a daily basis. To date I have not known of a single case related to HIDs and if I knew they did I would bin them at he drop of a hat!

Now, may I ask, please for some forgiveness!

Cheers :D

I've had retro fitted hids for 2+ years with no mot failures or oncoming drivers flashing me

HID's don't need to comply to European standards if retrofitted onto a car that doesn't have them as standard. Only cars straight out the factory get these tested on an MOT & only then do you need the auto levelling sensors & washers. Reason I know is I just asked my mate the other day who works as a mechanic at an MOT test station & he was asking if I was getting an HID kit for my Z4. Hope that clears things up & puts everyone's faith back into buying this mans batmobile, I mean Z4.

Thanks for your kind words of support. It was quite damning to be told I was selling an 'illegal' car :(

But, transparency is a good thing and is what these forums are all about so any comments are welcome :D

I'd like to buy the sticker !

 :D Believe it or not that bat sticker was scarily expensive! Import from the USA and testimony to my geekiness! It certainly draws a lot of attention in supermarket car parks but also creates a lot of disappointment when they see that I really do not look anything like Batman- sadly I'm more of a small Robin.....
