Well it's done, but the Zed has gone to a good home with new forum member Nige' (Niho) who was a pleasure to deal with. He and his wife had a nice test drive with the roof down .... then it rained just as they left "you can't drive it the rain, it's not used to it" I cried, but he was gone 
I've worked out that I've owned over 65 cars over the years (usually two or three at a time) and my 12 years with the Z4 has been far and away the longest for good reason, purpose built two-seater, beefy engine, sorted RWD and distinctive looks, a great package. And here is no doubt that the BMW six is one of the all-time great engines, the like of which we will literally never see again, which is sad. Things move on but I'll be sticking around the forum which has provided so much information, support and amusement, thanks folks.
