Due to having landed a new project in Switzerland for the next four months, and having increasingly limited time to drive it when I am at home, my Z4MC is up for sale. For those of you who are thinking you’ve seen this before, I did advertise it in August last year but for a combination of reasons decided to hang on to it. Since then I’ve done just 2500 miles, which seems a waste of the potential, so it’s time for somebody else to enjoy it.

I have owned the car for nearly three years, and bought it from Chandlers BMW in Worthing. First registered on 18th December 2006 to a media company in Cheshire as the company car of their Managing Director (lucky chap), he then bought the car and registered it in his name, and I then bought it in October 2009. As a result it has had two previous owners, but only one previous “driver” and I have written confirmation of this.

In addition to the standard specification a Z4 M Coupe, which is already very high, it has the following options:

- Rear PDC
- Logic7/DSP hi-fi
- 6 CD changer
- Tracker Monitor

Being a post Oct 2006 car, it also has the Aux-In socket under the heating controls for MP3 player connectivity.

Service history is complete and comprehensive and I have a folder of all the servicing paperwork covering items that have been done during my ownership. Here’s the detail:

18/12/2006 –- PDI and First Registration
07/02/2007 -- Running in Service @ 1286 miles, Stratstone BMW, Chesterfield
01/04/2008 -- Oil Service @ 12,121 miles, Stratstone BMW, Chesterfield
18/09/2009 -- Brake Fluid @ 17,348 miles, Chandlers BMW, Worthing
01/04/2010 -- Inspection 1 @21,905, Dick Lovett BMW, Hungerford
23/07/2011 -- Oil Service @ 33,891, Dick Lovett BMW, Hungerford
15/10/2011 –- MOT and brake fluid change @ 35,187, Vines BMW, Guildford

Current mileage stands at 37,400 and the car is showing 11,500 to the next service or just over one year whichever is sooner.

I have also maintained the BMW Warranty which is both fully comprehensive and there is no excess. This is transferable to the new owner to offer you some extra peace of mind.

Tax runs until 31st October and the MOT until 26th October.

Overall condition of the car, as you can see from the photos, is excellent. I am fastidious about both the maintenance and the cleanliness of my cars and this car has benefitted from being garaged throughout my ownership and other than for a brief six weeks, has always been my second car. As a result the paintwork is in fantastic condition and there no scuffs or scratches. It is also completely original down to the running in sticker on the windscreen. I have both keys, all the manuals including the Z4 M supplement, locking wheel nut key and finally a complete puncture/mobility kit.

All wheels are shod with matching Continental ContiSport M3 tyres with good tread levels. The wheels are also in good condition, but the previous owner had the fronts refurbished and the finish isn’t quite as glossy as original. Alas, one of the rear wheels has small area that's been touched in, approx size of a 5p piece. It was like this when I bought it, and hasn’t got any worse during my ownership.

Finally the car is available for viewings in central Guildford.
Price: £15,500

Given my current working arrangements it won’t be replaced with anything in the short term, which is shame but there’s no point having something just sat idle in the garage. So, if you’re interested please PM me or reply to this post to come and see the car for yourself – I guarantee you won’t be disappointed.

Cheers James

A top notch car which is very well priced, I'm sure this will attract plenty of interest. Good luck with the sale.

A steal for somebody. One of the very best examples out there and if I didnt already have one I'd bite your hand off. Good luck with the sale James

Guys,

Thanks for all the kind words and I'm pleased, and a little sad, to say that the car has now sold. The advert went live on Pistonheads last Friday at 5pm, I'd had a call by 10am the next morning, a viewing by 2pm and the deal done by 4.50pm. So in the end it took less that 24 hours to sell and it's just been collected this morning.

Sold to a nice chap about 30 miles away who's had a number of M3s of both E36 and E46 variety as well as a Cerbera, so it's gone to a good home. I'm sure he'll be joining the forum soon.

I'll be sticking around too not least because I'm really enjoying the "guess the car" thread that's running at the moment.

Cheers

James

With Pistonheads, it seems to be either a 24 hours sale or never type thing. My first Z4 I sold in 24 hours as well, had about 5 calls during that time and after that - nothing until I removed the ad a couple of days later when the car was collected.

Oh - and congrats on the sale of course.

Where abouts in Switzerland? I am a regular for a client in Zurich.

Congrats James - enjoyed trying to keep up on the Sussex meet, shame it had to go...

I knew it would go quickly James, just needed to keep the faith

Thanks Mark. Sold to a man who was more interested in condition and history than sat nav!

I'm in Lugano, flying with Swiss so typically I change planes at Zurich. Normally I'm on the 6am from Heathrow, which is a bloody early start whichever way you look at it.

I enjoyed your banter at lunch! Great to know that my last drive in it (other than demonstrating it for the test drive) was with like minded owners on a Z4 meet - seems a a fitting way to round off my ownership.

Indeed! In fact, I may have been the last person to see you drive it in anger as you left the A23...
