Sold my M

I sold my M to my local specialist today.

Didn't get quite what I wanted for it, but I'd rather take a small hit than have to deal with the idiots and tyre kickers that are bound to come knocking on my door.

Car will be gone by the end of the week, and I'll be putting a few bits I have floating about up in the for sale section.

It's been emotional.

Just PM'd you then seen this.

You going to tell us what you bought?

I've not bought anything yet!

I'm after a TVR Chimaera 450 if I can find a good one!

Doh...you should have offered the B12 kit for a replacement with stock plus money. I for one would have been super keen.

Good luck with that one
Rob Ingelby [findasportscar.co.uk] is the man to contact for any TVR

Looking at the way the for sale threads turn out on here, I’m not surprised :?

Be keen to know if the Gruppe-M and strut end up for sale

Me too!

Shame it didn't sell on here, sounds a really nicely set up car!

It was a very well set up car that I'd put a lot of time and money into.

I did briefly consider putting the car up for sale on here, but given the way other for sale posts have turned out on here I decided that I couldn't be bothered to deal with the grief and stupidity that would evidentially end up ruining my for sale thread. I'll put a link up to the dealer that has the car once its gone if anyone wants to purchase it.

The Strut brace and GruppeM are gone, to save anymore people messaging me!

You made the hardest choice by selling the "M", but once you find a good TVR Chimaera 450 you will not regret it.
The burble of the V8 is so intoxicating, you don't need to be going at 10 - 10th's to enjoy the ride. Main thing to remember is buyer beware!

That last point is very true. Almost all cars are fast now, so it is no longer the case of "being faster". Sometimes a drive in my old Golf is more rewarding as even within the speed limits it can be a challenge.

Hmm - had a Chimaera for a short while and have gone the other way . . .

Glorious noise, absolutely intoxicating but I found it an ownership challenge - felt a little kitcar in it's odd and idiosyncratic switchgear and operations, gearbox quite agricultural and the need to slide the roof section into the boot became a chore. Friendly and understanding mechanic needed if you're not DIY proficient. I felt like Tom Jones at volume wherever I drove it but the noise is definitely better for those outside then those in the TVR unless you're either accelerating or changing down - a journey on a steady throttle you'll find induces a tension headache. As a weekend fun sportscar it is special - good ownership club and lovely that it's home grown as well.
I think of my Z4MR as a modern and more reliable TVR . . .

I just don't get excited by the M anymore. I may be back, you never know!!

I have owned a few different types of TVR over the last 18 years and the only time that I had to rely on a Breakdown Service, was due to the poor maintenance of the Highways!

The dreaded pot hole struck me down (wrecked tyre) in the depths of Mid Winter, need I say more.
