Would the covers be available to buy from BMW and could I use the boss cover from a normal Z4 steering wheel?
Cheers

Are the wheel spokes the chromeline finish? And there are no holes on the back of the spokes where paddles go?
If this will work OK on an 03 manual car just transferring with my existing airbag I'll take it thanks..

Any pics of the back? Trying to understand what you mean about the cover and boss cover? Thanks

Thanks. So apart from needing to transfer the airbag and connecting the switch wires, horn and airbag that's it?

If you pm me I'll sort out payment with you on the next hour or so. Thanks

Thanks jabber. Can you clarify whether any steering wheel can be used with a SMG car? If I transfer all covers etc over? Or is the bare bones of steering wheel slightly different between the two?

The only difference between the 2 types is the pre drilled holes to mount the paddles and the rear covers and the boss cover have a cut out for the paddles. This wheel has been fitted with non smg covers but covers from a smg wheel could be used to replace them if required

You will have to get the retro fit cable or make one to make the button work, just doing it on my wheel.

So will it fir straight on to my 04 Z4 with no problems then and assuming the wiring is in place all the controls will work?

Yep, just bought the cable for a few quid. Fairly straightforward mod. Wiring at the light switch end was quite tight so made splicing into it a bit fiddly. All done now and up and running. It wasn't one of the mods I was in a rush to ever do but I'm glad I did with this wheel as it's in really nice condition...

It could be easily made to be honest if you have two of the correct pins to go in to the green connector under the steering column. Otherwise the cable from BMW is only £8. Part no. 61120394848. Ordered 5pm Tuesday, in my hand 10.30am Wednesday..
