From what i know about apple warrenty its from purchase date not registration date. Is that a no to the receipt btw?

Its is a great price still. And I love the "iPad 2's coming out crowd" not just here but on other forums. I cant see the iPad 1 lossing too much price as its still a cracking bit of kit.

It's a yes to the receipt as it's one of the 28 on the invoice I have, all listed by serial number. If the warranty does start from purchase date not registration then it's 13 days into it warranty.

The ipad 1's price has actually already been adjusted for new line up, two weeks ago this one was £612 it's now £499 to be sold alongside the more expensive ipad 2.

Also to confirm that when I had an issue with an Apple product, the warranty repair was approved by means of the serial number. In other words, they "know" when the product was sold without the need to provide any receipts.

I sold my ipad 16 gb 3G today....going to get a new one this weekend if I go to NY, not sure yet. Not going to bother with the 3G, it's a waste of time, and will just get wi-fi model....

The wi-fi still doesn't have the dedicated GPS chip that the 3g version does, so if you don't use any GPS functions then the wi-fi one will be fine.

I've been trying mine (3g one) out in the car as a sat-nav aid to see if I can eventually replace the TomTom with it completely, and as there is no wi-fi (unless I decide to buy a mi-fi) I've had to use the 3g connection which has been quick quick & reliable so far.

This is now on ebay and i've edited the first post to reflect this. Thanks
