SOLD

Selling a Streamline Engineering Intake (full carbon fiber with cone filter) located in NJ, USA. Coming off a 2.5i pre-facelift Z4. Original buyer flaked so I'm seeing if there is any interest before it goes back on the car. All imperfections documented in the photos below.

The cone filter was cleaned with K&N's cleaning kit less than 10,000 miles ago. The SE intake is also shown sitting in the engine bay with my original OEM air filter housing installed. I also documented the diameter in millimeters of the rubber inlet that connects to the MAF sensor. The rubber hosing you see is the adaptation that I made to keep the SE intake from falling down and off the front clip, as this intake never came with the original SE mounting bracket.

I had the same intake in my 2.5i for 2 and a half year (IIRC), it's probably the best engine mod "sound-wise" you will ever have for this engine. Coupled with the sound generator, it was absolutely fantastic. And it looks superb.
Fitting is extremely simple. The only downside i found is that it's a bit more longer to clean the filter as you have to remove the housing completely.

Thank you for the kind words. :D It's by far the best and rarest intake for the pre-facelift M54-engined Z4s, sound-wise and also performance-wise IIRC due to a fully closed airbox and the large double-flared cone filter. It was purchased shortly after Streamline Engineering went under after the group buy on z4um.com. I have a hard time letting this go, since I had it coupled with my sound generator with 1/3 of the foam removed (it sounded great!!). Yes, the downside is cleaning the filter since the entire assembly has to come out, but I never really had any issues maintenance-wise with cleaning the filter.

A recommendation from me as well, I had one in my old 3.0.

Great sound and improvement in both fuel economy as well as performance. The only unit I am aware of that actually works.

pvr, weren't you on z4um way back when it was still up? The username looks familiar for some reason.

Thanks for the comments everyone, PMs replied, bump!

It will fit.
The main difference between 2.5 and 3.0 is the diameter of the intake hose, and thus the diameter of the MAF housing.
The small rubber ring you see in the pictures goes from the air box to the MAF housing.
It would seem that the OP only has the 2.5 ring, wether i had with mine both 2.5 and 3.0 rings. It really is juste a rubber ring, so you could probably just get some silicon hose (blue ones give best HP, so they say) of the right diameter and cut it to the correct length once you have the intake.

This was mine. You can see the rubber ring there.
