Selling my E89 Z4 28i Automatic. I love this thing but it needs to go as I have a much longer commute to work now and need a more comfortable diesel. Black exterior with black interior. I wanted this combination in this exact car (28i auto) so much that I travelled all the way down to Canterbury to get it (I'm North West based - Warrington area).

Reg is RE64 OYM.

Currently has 37,800 miles but it's still my daily and will go up.

Gets around 28mpg.

MOT until June 2025.

Options:
iDrive sat nav
Cup holders
Parking sensors
Electric folding door mirrors
Cruise control
Auto wipers

Does not have heated seats.

Mods: really simple here. I put a stubby aerial on when I got it. The guy I bought if off had the alloys painted black.

4 previous owners.

There is a 14k mile gap in the service history. The previous chap who I bought if off told me that the original owner passed away and it was left in the garage for a while and declared SORN. After this, it went to his son who used it for while (and didn't service it) before part ex-ing it to a garage. The guy I bought it from bought it from. said garage.

Services are:
12/12/2016 - 4,740 miles
21/12/2017 - 6,758 miles
13/07/2022 - 20,738 miles
10/06/2023 - 27,834 miles (first service under my ownership)
03/07/2024 - 33,559 miles

Services also pictured.

Damage:

Exterior is fine. Interior there is scuffing to the chairs and some minor scratches on gear lever area (expected with age). Last year a bit of the sticker on the handbrake peeled off under hot sun. I've pictured this.

New battery Jan 24.

Had a electric fault with left wing mirror last year (wasn't folding) but this has also been fixed.

2 new front tyres last year. 2 rear still have plenty of tread on. Fronts were only replaced as a pothole took a chunk out of one.

I have all of the receipts of everything done to this car.

Selling for £12,995 but open to offers.

Can't sell the car on AutoTrader for months? Join the owners' forum and try again. 😀 You're taking a big hit over your original asking price.

When you are selling a car the first thing people are looking at are the photos and the condition of the car.

Poor photos and a dirty car are the most off-putting things.

28mpg is very low for a 28i.

Welcome to the forum, even if you are planning to leave!

Someone needs a few lessons on how to sell a car!

OP. A few friendly words of advice (take 'em or leave 'em)...

You are asking top money for that car so you need to put a bit more effort in IMO..
CLEAN your car and take some up-to-date pictures. The more the better.
Don't focus on what it hasn't got, focus on what it has.
Don't post pictures of damaged trim.
Get rid of the dashcam and trailing wires (doesn't look good in photos).
Tell people why they should buy yours over the other offerings out there. Cos, as it stands, I can't see any reason why yours would be worth enquiring about at the money being asked.

Ha, fair points. I appreciate the feedback though. I'll take some new photos and have a think about the price.

As for the chip on the handbrake, thought I'd just be open about it rather than trying to hide it.

Would I be better off just killing this thread and starting a new one with the updates or just reposting here once I've sorted it?

Cheers guys.

You can't delete the thread (only mods can do that), but you can delete your posts. You also can't delete anyone else's replies on the thread.
I am happy to delete my response above if it helps. :)

Nah its all good mate.

Really appreciate you being direct with me, I think I needed a good kick up the bum/wake up call on getting it sold properly.

I'm sorting out my autotrader ad now but will do it on here too in a bit.

I really would like it to go to another enthusiast tbh (rather than a boy racer) because I have kept good care of it and it's in fantastic condition despite my crappy photos.

Do think part of the laziness from me is there's a big part of me that thinks I'll regret selling it but it's just not the car for the job I require at the moment (rubbish 1 hour commute each way up terrible motorway).

You can buy a new parking brake cover for less than £10.on eBay. I'd do that as otherwise it detracts from the first impression of your car. A shame it hasn't got heated seats as otherwise I'd be seriously interested.
