can't remember exactly where mine was on the Z4 but it worked very well and they are very well made
 
That is correct , the only difference is the one in Marks picture has a connector for charging the phone at the bottom. The are really well made and mean you don't keep leaving your phone in the little slot between the seats every time you get out of the car . :thumbsup:

Is this for both the holder and dash piece?

Its two parts the holder and the mounting plate. The mounting plate is vehicle specific, in this case for a z4 and the holder is interchangeable and sctews onto the mounting plate. You can go onto Broadit .com and buy the charging cradle. This is a good buy for twenty odd quid. I have used these in my e86 and my 3 series, very solid. :thumbsup:
