I spent a long time looking for the right Z4 before finally buying this one. But with a wife, three kids and a big dog it was never going to get a lot of use. The time has come now to admit that somebody else should get the chance to enjoy it.
In excellent, well-maintained condition, and backed up with an extensive and detailed service history, this is one of the most well sorted Z4's in the country.
Despite looking standard it has some sensible under the skin improvements which take it well beyond its original capabilities:
  • Quaife ATB limited slip rear differential
    Koni Special Active dampers
    VRSF downpipes
    Mishimoto intercooler
    Masata chargepipe
    Burger Motorsport Dual Cone Intake

The combination of the Koni dampers and Quaife LSD completely transform the ride, handling and grip of the car. To take advantage of this and the other modifications the car is running a MHD Stage 2+ ECU map (currently 420bhp, but can also be mapped back to stock at 305bhp). The original downpipes and intercooler are available if you wish to take the car further back to stock.

Remapping is an easy process - it can be done from an app on your phone in about 2 minutes. As well as remapping, the app also includes options to change other parameters such as exhaust valve, throttle response, idle - and will also read and clear standard OBDII engine codes.

In addition to greatly improved performance the car has had some upgrades to the interior. The steering wheel has been re-trimmed with beautiful perforated nappa leather. The factory speakers have been upgraded with BMW specific tweeters, mid-range and woofers from Hertz and Match. The original pop-up i-Drive screen has been replaced with a seamlessly integrated aftermarket touchscreen. As well as being a much clearer display this has the advantage of keeping the original i-Drive interface, but also integrating Apple CarPlay & Android Auto. The original pop-up screen is also available.

The car has been recently serviced and had new injectors, plugs, coils, various bushings and other preventative maintenance (including a salmon relay for the roof control unit - if you're looking for a Z4 make sure this has been done!). The alloys are unmarked, and the rear recently had new brake discs, pads, and a set of Michelin PS4's. The car also comes with the original silver grills, factory wind deflector, x2 keys, original owners pack and a folder full of invoices and receipts.

Car can be viewed in Livingston, Scotland.

Black with red interior, i drive and nice 18" wheels wow! Whats not to like? If only I had the money

Nice car. Personally I would consider getting rid of the wife and kids and keeping the car....... and the dog of course.

Good luck on the sale

Hi OP
really surprised no one has had this car yet .
Sounds stunning
Sorry to jump your post , could you tell me a bit more about the quaife LSD if you don’t mind? I’m thinking of putting one on my 35i and would love to hear more from you on how it feels on the car
Thanks in advance
Dave

Apologies for cutting across the OP's post and yours.

I've now had 2 Quaifes on my 304bhp 450 NM E89 MSport Auto and my current 400 BHP 650 NM 35is..

They are pricey but great.

Its diffcult to describe as the benefit is you don't notice anything..

No more wheelspin exiting junctions, no more strange power reductions by the ECU as it starts to get loose...you just get on and go..no worrying about loads of throttle mid corner..

On damp roads when booting it you feel a row-row action from the back as the traction gets fed across as both wheels struggle for grip..but compared to the antics without it..

If only I could get the front end to behave like the rear..

Great upgrade justa pity its so expensive..

If you need a donor diff to avoid being grounded for a few weeks then I have one for sale (that's what I did)..maybe cheaper to just take the car to them and get it done by Birds..

To the rescue again 👍
Thanks for your information, I was pretty much sold on it BEFORE I read your post . That’s just made me want it more. Thanks so much for The positive vibes . Thanks n another note , we spoke about the pictures you posted regarding the boot lip spoiler. And I picked up on the way you had painted the valance black and colour coded the rear diffuser. Loved it so much, I just finished doing mine. It was never going to show up as much as your one because of that fantastic yellow . But I’m very happy with the results. Thanks again 👍I’d post a picture but it seems a bit rude on this gentleman’s thread 😊

No apology necessary! My reply was going to point out you are probably the best man to answer that question, especially as I have no experience of how the car behaves before Quaife.

Yes, I'm a bit surprised it hasn't gone yet. Not sure how much of an effect the current fuel prices have had on the market. I'm fortunate enough to not be in a hurry for the money though, so quite happy biding my time until the new owner reveals themselves.

It's the quiafe diff thats holding back the sale 100%......

Pop it to the workshop and I'll swap it for my 35i standard one and get rid of it for you.....no no....no need to thank me....it's a hassle but well.....

No worries, as I said its v expensive as mods go..on a par with Ohins /KV3s/Big turbos etc but in terms of real world 'performance' probably the most understated upgrade...With 400 bhp /650 nm and some wet roads I think I would have been field ploughing by now..

Ref the spolier each to their own but never understood on non MSPort dffuser cars the grey brown valance and on the 35is the great blob of colour on the bottom..to me one of the most off putting parts of the car..along with the silver mirror caps.. :tumbleweed:

Look forward to the pics..some where..

Very odd..I do wonder if 'heavy mods' do put buyers off..I had issues shifting my modded 20i..maybe the colour was the problem..

The yellow 35i with Quaife has been on the market several times for long periods..

If you are not in a rush then that's good..

I have no idea how the fuel price vs inflation impact is going to affect this part of the market..I would have thought it was pretty insensiive..given the average annual mileage of some of the garage queens..?

Being honest, mods will only appeal to a limited market.
Personally I would dial it back to standard output,.
And I would not highlight the other mods.
Jmo if advertised off the forum.
A lot of people will assume the worst, especially if they just want a nice 2 seater .

Joking apart and without wanting to piddle on your sale I'd have to agree with Phoenixboy, 420 is a fair amount more than standard and the talk on here regarding blown turbos, wastegate, fuel pump issues etc, etc, may be enough to put potential buyers off. Maybe breakdown the cost of the parts and potential resale of them and return to standard.
