Hi there,

I'm selling my roadster to get some cash for wedding & honeymoon deposits. I'll be sad to see it go but I can't justify keeping it locked up in the garage any more.
I've driven it only 2500 miles over the last 18 months due to a back injury meaning I simply couldn't get in or out of it. Its been a cracking car and will continue to
be for many more years if the next owner takes as much care of it as I have.

It's a 2008 (58) 2.0i Sport Roadster in titanium silver with black roof and black leather / brushed aluminium interior. One of the last few off the production line.
It has MSport extras including; heated leather sports seats, chunky sports steering wheel and lower/stiffer sports suspension.
18" BMW 108 Alloy wheels with recent Vredestein Sessanta tyres.
6-speed Manual Gearbox.

There are some tasteful modifications to this car such as;
Angel Eyes because BMWs just don't look right without them,
Lip at the bottom of the front bumper is currently coated in black plastidip which gives it a more sporty look, this will peel off easily to reveal the original paint work,
BMW OEM ZHP Gearknob which gives a more sporty driving experience,
Stubby aerial fitted but the original whippy is in the boot,
and of course the essential Z4-forum sticker in the back window :)

The car has covered 28020 miles from new with only 1384 miles covered under the previous owner. Senior Scottish lady who simply kept it locked away for 3 years.

MOT until October 19/10/2015.

It has 2 Service book stamps with receipts from each garage:
1) 3/5/11 - 1210 miles - Douglas Park BMW. Work carried out: Oil Service, Brake fluid and Micro-filter.
2) 3/9/14 - 27723 miles - BMW & Mini Specialist, Garage 786 Ltd. Work carried out: Inspection I and Brake Fluid

Next service is an oil service but is not due for a long time as the car has only done ~280 miles since Inspection I.

Inbetween these "official" services the car has had fresh oil changes at home every year without fail in April/May
and fresh oil and full set of filters including cabin at the end of october 2012 (18000 miles).

Now for the unfortunate bits:
Back in 2013 the car was subject to a minor car park hit and run which left this lovely car with a creased rear quarter and slight ripple in the door.
A new door + rear arch were fitted and unfortunately the paint match is a shade lighter than the original paint, I'm told metallic silver is difficult to get right.
There are also a couple of scratches/nicks to the paint work around the car but nothing massive and some stone chipping to the front of the vehicle.
I'm only adding these details for complete disclosure, this is still in great condition for a 7 year old motor.

I have all 4 MOT Certificates, owners folder/manuals, 2 original remote keys and hopefully the valet key will turn up soon,
log book is present and registered at the address where the vehicle is kept.
The car is currently SORN'd so test drives will be limited to the driveway but can be extended to the road once you show valid insurance cover for the car.
Any inspection is welcome, this is a genuine car with nothing to hide. Just been valeted inside/outside/engine the full works.
Located near Gotham, Nottinghamshire. 10 minute drive from M1 J24.

Asking price is £8000. Sensible offers considered.

Looks lovely and a shame that you are having to sell it, however I think any potential buyer will want to have a proper test drive, so unless your drive is a few miles long I would suspect having it SORNED might restict potential buyers.

GLWTS

Thanks
Not too worried about the SORN'd status. If a potential buyer shows enough interest then I'll phone up and get it taxed for a month. This new tax system is excellent.

New pictures added to original post, hope they help to show the excellent condition of the car.

Can any forum members offer advice on how/where to sell this car without offering it at trade price. I've been offered £6500 from a dealer but I have a feeling its worth more, perhaps I'm deluded?

Considering Aquazi is trading is 2008 3.0 for 7k with 49k miles, the £6500 does not look too bad from a dealer...

Many will be put off by service history. It's should have at least 3 services no more than 2 years apart. You have had 2 in 6 years.

I know you say you have done intermediate ones, but there is no real proof. Other issue is when you look at ESP's car which is up for the same amount. Bit older and more miles, but ///M front and rear bumpers, quad exhaust and 224's.

But that's why I've priced it at £8k instead of the £11k a perfect car would fetch. Geeez you enthusiasts really don't do the value of your cars any favours!

Your 2.0 litre is in super condition (perhaps let down by the paint issue you quite rightly highlighted). The light conversion will appeal to many.

To achieve top price you will have to be patient. As your Zed is original it may appeal to certain buyers.

The problem is that you (and I) have E85 Zeds which are at the end of their run (2008) and therefore some of the most expensive in value. The reduction in price of earlier Zeds mean that the E85 has decreasing value with some nicely modified examples for sale which attract buyers at the expected price of standard models. The prices being quoted are based upon recent market trends on this forum and not necessarily what you will find in the dealerships.

You also have to be aware that on the forum the 2.0 litre is under-rated (I loved my 2.0 litre but went for the 'full fat' 3.0si myself) and therefore sometimes a difficult sell to such members.

My suggestion would be to advertise on all the usual selling media and wait for the buyer who falls in love with the Z4 and is happy to purchase a 2.0 litre - yours will stand out as a great example, will appeal to those buying on low mileage and condition and you will have a far better chance of reaching your expected price.

Not the best time to be selling however. . . . . if you can wait I'm sure you'll not have to sell at trade to a dealer. All the best with your sale.

:driving:

Wise words above  "Patience is a virtue the wait won't hurt you " my gran's favourite saying :D take heed if you want a reasonable return it will happen but it will take time

All I'm saying is that with cars around like ESP's at the same money you might struggle.

If you need a quick sales something will have to give, shite time if year doesn't help. But as others have said if you can hang on you might get 8k.

I was looking for helpful advice and you came storming along full of destructive criticism which helps no-one. How would you like it if I came onto your for sale thread and accentuated any little niggles?

Sorry if you took it this way, was just an observation, and nothing nobody wouldn't see if they did their research.

Apology accepted.
With regards to your post about ESP's car, you would rather buy an older car with double the mileage which would cost more to insure due to a massive amount of modification?
