*SOLD* 2006 Black Sapphire 3.0Si Sport Roadster

Sorry to hijack your thread Bing (although I am rather thrilled to have at last learned how to post pics - who would have thought that rtfm worked ...)

Back on track - I still think your Z4 is the perfect blend of spec and modifications

Given how many threads I've hijacked I think it would be churlish of me to resent a minor diversion

And thanks

My potential buyer has pulled out, sadly - not because of my car, he's been lured to another marque... I'll let him tell you which one though

That being the case there's no first refusal for anyone anymore - worth saying that sadly I'm not around at all this weekend, but I'll be working from home on Friday and possibly Thursday this week, off work and at home all next week.

I've always had most success on Autotrader. Never failed to sell within 2 weeks.

Fleabay's another good place - fixed price, 30 days ... all cars I've had since about 2003 have all been sold on there

You didn't sell your Z through there did you ? And don't you have to give 10% to eBay in fees ?

Wasn't around for long enough... though did put it on there.

Cars are fixed price - not final price, something like £20-30 per advert

Folks, it's time to confess, I was Bings 'first offer' buyer...and have been lured by the dark side from Stuttgart so will be joining Carol in the world of a Boxster 987.... yes I know, I know and am ready for all your comments about it being a hairdressers car, etc... :D Truth is its a 1 owner car with full P service history at a price I couldn't turn down.

Back to Bing's car though, as you can see I'm new to the forum here so have no prior knowledge of Bing or his car.
What I can say is that Bing's car is lovely, drives fantastic (that engine wow).
I went through all the cars documentation and service history (lots of it) which was all in perfect order

In my quest for a Z4 I viewed 6 cars, drove 5 (1 was a dog with fleas so didn't bother with a test drive) all in a similar price range and I'd say without doubt that Bings car was the best car of them all. Granted there were several 2.5 s in there so not a fair comparison with the 3.0. Bings car had No unusual noises, knocks or bangs...just the sound of that silky six mmmm.

Bing is a real perfectionist with his car and I've never seen such a pile of microfibre clothes  Once that minor little ding is sorted this car will look 100% and those alloys...wow they are simply stunning and in unmarked condition

Oh and for the record I actually preferred the auto box vs the manual box (which in my view is quite notchy)

So in summary make the effort to view this car and buy with confidence, you won't find a better example at this price anywhere....I know cause I tried!

GLWTS Bing

Mickemo, thank you very much indeed - it's extremely decent of you to take the time to comment and provide an independent/unbiased opinion. It was a pleasure meeting you, and I'm delighted it was worth the long trip

Enjoy the Porsche 8)

Still here - just been uploading a bunch of new photos, now added to original post

(There are quite a few, still only half as many as I took - even QD'd the car at the end of the day to get loads of dust off that had settled during the day when parked up  )

They do - love 'em 8)

It's probably worth me saying that if anyone is being put off by the carbon badges, black grilles and lowering springs then I have all the OEM parts in very good condition to put them back to standard. The badges and springs I'll include in the sale as there is time & effort required to change, the grilles we can just swap over.

I could be persuaded to include my winter wheels (17" daisies, style 103) - no cracks or buckles, 4-5mm of tread across the tyres but they do need a refurb. They're taking up space and I wouldn't use them on my new car, so you can have them for free included in the asking price.

I'm not sure I can sweeten the deal anymore unless I include a full tank of fuel

Well you can't say fairer than that Bing! Not many private sales include such a comprehensive & inclusive package! :D

I hope that your car goes to a good home and to someone that will continue to cherish and look after it the same way that you have.

There seem to be plenty of people posting 'WANTED - Z4 Convertible'. I only hope they take the time to read your excellent advert. The pictures alone are enough to spark the interest and create the desire to own it!

Good luck with the sale!

:)

Wyldie85, thanks - I might make a small amount of money holding the bits back and selling separately, but not enough to justify putting off buyers. I don't need them, so why not right ? It's all sunk cost and I just want to sell the car.

Completely agree! You could keep them back but then you have the aggro of selling them and for the sake of 'getting rid' it makes much more sense for them to go with the car!

Love the new photo's by the way - the red on black with the 224's looks awesome!

I can't believe you're selling after finally fitting the 224's....

I will say, for anyone considering buying this car, I did a little work on it for Binglesby and it's in superb condition inside, outside, and under it all. Mechanically perfect.

If I was an auto man, I'd buy it myself

Rob

I know

I've edited the original post to detail the cost of that little mod... £450 for the wheels, £330 for the rear tyres.
