Software Update

I have a 2015 Z4 and updated the software via my iDrive online and told me my software is up to date. Being a suspicious bunny it keeps telling me its up to date, so I went online and put my VIN code in and the download came in as UPD01008.bin. The .pdf blurb was dated 2014.

So stating the obvious but is that the last ever update for the Z4 that was produced until 2016? or am I muppet

Welcome to the world of 'functionally stabilised products' as IBM used to say..or a dead parrot a la Monty Python

BMW would have done a minor tidy up with the LCI on the Z4, addressed any really bad bugs in the following tidy up and then frozen it..for ever..

The guys who wrote the code have long gone and probably nobody knows how to upgrade it /cares..

With the relentless march of technology "Moore's Law", the h/w that powered the E89s computers is now out of date by a factor of around 32 times in terms of compute power /storage..so nobody is going to keep writing code for such an obsolete piece of junk!
