Softtop Motor :(

Can someone tell me where the micro switch and fuses are for the roof? Went to use mine today and pressed the button and nothing happened but whilst I pressed the button I did get an orange light. Also - not sure if it's connected or not but the drivers side window has stopped going up fully with one pull of the button, I have to keep the button pulled for the full duration. Might all be linked into the problems I've been having with the battery, which keeps running flat and had to get a jump start from the aa last weekend :(

Orange light means it's not happy with the position of the shelf in the boot, have a look and make sure both sides of the rotating black plastic handle are turned down, making sure the roof is in it's lowest position. There's one microswitch in the middle, the tray flicks this switch as it lifts and triggers the orange light.

Isteph0, don't panic yet, it does sound like a battery problem. You may have gotten off easy this time!

Seems to be a rash of motor failures lately, many are facelifts. Pent up bad karma from many cars going all winter without lowering the top, owner's finally able to go topless, and finding .... nothing. Yikes.

From what ive read doesnt matter if the cars lived inside or out.... We all still wash the things, so everytime i wash my car is this part being submerged in water or does it need more water than washing would subject it too???

What a s**t design..... Basically at some point this will fail from water ingress....

The odd thing is folks with completely clear drains have pulled failed motors where the housing was full of water, though the tub is clean and dry. One theory is water runs down along the outside of hydraulic lines, gets in the housing, and has no where to go.

If one put drain holes in the housing, then the motor would be quickly be submerged anytime the main tub drains got blocked and water started collecting. Catch 22.
