Soft top woes :(

Good result Jimmy! Now get to work on them for all the rear springs this forum needs!

And I'm surprised that no-one's been here to say it in the past, but.... all the roof motors that are going and leaving the top stuck shut - you'd think even the roadsters themselves would rather be coupé's 8)
 
JP it would be good if you can post all the info and invoices, (black out your details)

then anyone else in this situation can use it as leverage to get them replaced?

Sure, I'm actually waiting one the money being refunded back to me and the invoice being posted out - planning to phone them tomorrow. Will post them up when I get them!
 
UPDATE - I used this very thread as leverage and sure enough, after rescuing the part from the scrap pile at Plough Motors and taking it into my local dealers BMW have agreed that it failed due to water ingress and agreed to pay for the part!

Very pleased with this and think BMW have been pretty fair given that I had the motor fitted elsewhere before even approaching them for help (wish I'd known about this thread first!) They made it very clear that they won't do it again, and I had to make a few phone calls, but definitely worth the effort.

Now as soon as the money arrives I can spend it on... new suspension bushes 'cos mine are shot :(
