Hi,

I'm selling my pair of genuine BMW top down side covers to hide that unsightly gap and reduce wind noise. Mint condition, black with bag £215 posted which is what I paid from a member.

They are going on ebay Sun 2nd Aug and the reserve will be £215, so members can grab a bargain by purchasing direct on here.

edit: Just to clarify, once they are on ebay pm Sunday 2nd Aug they will be withdrawn from sale on the forum out of fairness to ebay bidders.

That's a very honorable price seeing as they've been hitting £300 recently on ebay

Thanks, just trying to play nice 8)
I bought them from a member a year or so ago to use as a template to set up small scale production with a friend who has 'invented' and produced a plastic motoring accessory which now sells very lucratively around the world. Anyway cutting a long story short, injection moulding is not viable for the numbers involved and the size is just outside that possible on a non-industrial 3D printer. Small scale industrial 3D printing by a third party is hugely expensive and both injection and printed blanks require tricky (on a small scale) and expensive finishing with oem quality dash style soft vinyl to match the genuine items quality. Then, the kicker is the latch mechanism which should be plastic to allow flexibility and avoid breakages but is surprisingly intricate. All in all small scale production of covers nearing oem quality isn't possible under the prices being asked for genuine items when they come up. We know someone is now making a replica, but it is nowhere near oem, uses a metal latch and costs more than expected, making this set a bargain. I'm currently working on a classic bike project and have just bought another bike as well, so am clearing out a lot of non-essential gubbins to keep the man maths straight

Let me know what needs to happen - i guess by PM.

No it was Rimblades, I always took the P out of him as the name sounds like something to shave your crack with :-P

They are now an oem accessory for several big manufacturers and were placed in Wallmart, but dealing with sub-standard Chinese knock-offs pinching sales and ruining the product's reputation has been an expensive nightmare.

Yep, no harm done whatsover. No slanging match, no threats, no mention of how well connected we may or may not be. Hoever, you should know that i got my yellow belt in karate 35 years ago and i have a 14 year old with a really shitty attitude at the mo so good job we both played nice
