Soft top opening button keeps flashing red when open

Just bought a 3.0 SE 2004 (UK) model but when I push the button on the dash to lower the roof it flashes red as normal whilst opening but when fully open it continues to flash red, even when car is being driven. This does not happen when I close it

I have also checked that both the luggage compartment handles at the base of the softop compartment are down.

Any tips anyone for a brand new forum member ?

Keep holding it down longer ? It's telling you it's not finished, so it might need to cycle the windows..

If it doesn't do it when up it shouldn't be anything serious.

The boot handles would make it amber.

hi, welcome to the forum.

it may be that you havent had the roof down much over winter so when it folds away it doesnt do it as neat and tidy as it should.

it happened on mine when i first started putting it down this year, if you get someone to help its easier but i just pressed the button till the roof was half open then went round and smoothed out all of the fabric so it went down cleaner if you get what i mean. you may have to do it a couple of times until the roof gets used to it but it should sort it out.

its the same as when the roof doesnt go all the way into the latch, same thing usually applies.

Mine has been doing the same recently. What Rudd_2002 says is spot on.

I've found after a few times of having it down recently it has stopped flashing. They obviously have quite sensitive sensors.
