Hey guys,

Some people use my soft top to extinguish their smoke..
I have now two small holes in the soft top. What should I use to repair it?

Thank you very much!

Alex

That doesn't look Alex

Not sure if there is anything that will do an invisible repair, but at least it is slightly hidden. This product Liquid vinyl is good http://www.z4-forum.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=76160&p=1118957&hilit

I used a kit from ebay.Under soft top repairs,2nd ad down.
SOFT TOP CAB. HOOD/CONV. REPAIR KIT.
MOHAIR TASC PRO-FIBRE MINI BLACK.£5.99.
PUT GLUE IN MARK AND SPRINKLE MOHAIR FIBRES IN.
IT HAS STAYED IN THE FOLD WEAR MARK OF MY HOOD FOR A FEW MONTHS NOW.
WORTH A TRY.

This looks interesting. Are you able to add a photo of your repair ? Do the black fibres stand out darker compared to the aged roof fabric ? Thanks

Are you sure that damage is new, it looks old and I wonder if it's a previous own discarding a fag butt out of the window and it's dropped into the roof joint.

You can see my repair but if you were to try it on a bit of card first I am sure you will be able to make a decent job.
The black fibre is a good match and will be better than what you have.Good luck.

Thank you very much for all you answers.
I will try the kit that "cherrym" told about.
Can you upload a picture of your repair, it will be very nice of you.

Have a nice day :-)

One positive is the hood is triple layered.
The waterproof inner layers have not been compromised be the looks of it so it is just aesthetics fortunately.
Still not nice to have to deal with though
Let us know how you get on with the kit, there are bound to be others in this pickle unfortunately.

Pics are not good but you will be able to make a better job.

Mate picked up a brand new TVR years ago, drove it to his work and parked it. After work went to drive home and some toe rag had stuck a lit cigarette into the plastic rear window where it had melted and carved a 6" long groove. New roof time as water would just pour in and the window wasn't removable.
