Yea I am also wondering how it would last in the long run. Think I read every 6 months you should do it again, forgot where I read that.

It's easy to apply . I have done mine twice but not overly happy if you have water marks in the roof it does nothing for them . New one for me is the only way I'll be happy .

Open the roof a few inches so the area becomes accessible.
 
Blimey there can be a huge difference in the price of a new hood so worth shopping around.

Even at the cheaper end of around £500 for the supply of the hood the labour is going to be at least another £300 - £400.

Unless there is stitching and glueing involved I'd be having a go myself and put a new roof motor in with the money I save on labour.

Leave the ignition on then!

I applied Fabsil to my roof about 18mths ago and just lowered the roof slightly to access that area. You just need a few mins to cover the area then you can close it again. I had polythene dust sheet tucked into the rubber seal so nothing transferred off the roof fabric.

I think I preferred the green roof. At least it looked a bit different. Silver grey with a black roof is so conventional.

I had qualms about my roof when I first saw it (beige on Merlot Red) but now I love it. In fact Merlot with a black roof looks so drab it's depressing!

What are your thoughts on a white z4 with grey top? Perhaps with black wheels? I like yours by the way, looks nice with beige top.

You can do it yourself. I put in the new roof motor, took a few hours. Just followed a thread from this site. I would do new soft top myself too. Labor would be way too much, Just make sure you know what your doing obviously.

I think it might look like it needs a good clean.

A good strong contrasting colour - dark red or dark blue perhaps ? I was never a big fan of black wheels, especially as they have now been done to death. You could go for wheels in a matching colour to the roof for an 'anodised' look. E.g. I was considering having the spokes of my 108 split rims in a metallic red with the rim finished in 'chrome' paint.

It depends how bling you want to be.

Also, I think dark colour zeds look better with black hoods so OP's might benefit from a colour change to black. Cueball's looks good though - compliments the paintwork IMO :thumbsup:
