soft top catching behind seats on its way down

Hello all
I'm having a problem with the trailing edge of the back window catching on the latch just behind the seats on it's way down, sometimes violently, happened on the hotter days last year which made me think expansion in the framework, but now is happening regularly. Obviously something needs adjustment, but is that possible by anyone other than a pro, or do I solve the problem with a hammer
Thank's in advance

I've heard of the latch catching and ripping the internal roof liner material when lowering, but not catching the rear window as it lowers. The latch was removed as part of the 2006 facelift changes because there were many issues with the latch including not latching. It's also redundant because hydraulic pressure can more or less hold the top in place when in down position. I know many members have removed the latch in the past with no warning lights or other side effects. If you do a search there are a few threads on this.

It may be that other members might have a another solution which could help you.

Hope you reslove it quickly :)

My dad adjusted mine as it was catching and not latching correctly. It'a fine now, so it's definitely possible. Easy enough to remove, judt take the plastic cover off and you'll see the bolts holding it in place.

I'm sure there was room within the bolts holes to adjust it a little.

You're absolutely right, shouldn't have been so quick to assume the glass, interesting about removing the latch though, will have to give it a try.
