Damn, I'm going to miss getting her in the trunk....

er I mean,
unable to make it.

Heyyyy, I don't recall discussing those "private" moments. Who blabbed??

I plead the 5th. Perhaps he reads all the posts. I think it was cfmoorejr. :headbang: [/quote]

No, me thinks it twas that Ginger person bob knows and dates ... :poke:

I recommend the Embassy Suites in La Quinta, or the Homewood Suites in La Quinta. Both are new hotels and close to the activities.

I was assigned the job of negotiating hotel rates for us as a group but haven't done it yet. I'll get it done this week, promise!

I'm staying at the Embassy Suites La Quinta - Hotel & Spa cause I had a ton of hilton point, so it's free for she and me ....

Well, if you got a ton....  we all could stay for free.. :poke: :P

I have added information to the first post in this thread. Breakfast location at 6:30 and we will be leaving there at 8:00.

Please post up what you will be bringing to snack on while in Palm Springs during the event.

By the way, the weather outlook for Dec. 6 in the desert is sunny, 80 degrees F (27C), and a zero % chance of rain. :driving:

This could be a great day!!! :tumbleweed:

Was there any hotel discounts to be had or something we need to do to get a discount?

Is anyone staying overnight? Any particular hotel arrangements recommended?

+1 is there any official hotel for the group yet?

Also, I'm brining a box of individually packaged junk food, different flavor Gatorade, bags of ice & a mini cooler. Thank you M coupe  :D

I recommend the following, and this is strictly un-official:

Call either the Embassy Suites or the Homewood Suites (closest to the restaurant for the "after-drive dinner"), both are in the city of La Quinta, and tell them you are with Tradition Aviation. You should get a rate better than the AAA rate just by saying that.

Also, what is our "traffic cone" status? is there enough out there that we don't need to buy anymore, or is a trip to Lowe's in order?

Hey for those that have a conflict with the autocross event.....I'm very sorry! We've had this event on the first Saturday of December for the past 2 years and it just happened to land on the 6th this year. We considered having it yesterday but with it being Thanksgiving weekend we thought that might be a poor choice.

Hope you understand and can still make it! The weather should be absolutely gorgeous and we have a few surprises up our sleeves! (Not even Bob knows!)   if you've been to any SoCal event, I promise, you'll never forget this one, especially this year :)

Wow Bob!!!....As always you have organized another great event & drive...

Unfortunately for me, I am not sure if I will be able attend the full venue of events. I got a call from my son today, and he will be returning home from Ft. McCoy sometime this Saturday. If his flight arrives in the evening, I can possibly drive up and meet with you all at Lake Elsinore & maybe to Lake Hemet. However, if his flight arrives anytime after mid-day, I will have to miss the entire thing... :( what a bummer...

I've talked to Jenny Mix at Embassy Suites, and she can't offer any discount because this weekend is filling up. Guess the tamale festival is a big thing down there .... (burp) :P

$179.55 to$ 236.55 with a AAA discount - only 6 rooms available.

Thanks for the heads up, cfmoorejr. I just booked our room this morning at Embassy Suites La Quinta. They wouldn't even give me the AAA discount "due to availability". :(

But at least I got the room! 8)

No regrets on missing the autocross here, though I wish I could do both. I went to this event last year, so I know it is a "must do" event. I am a little surprised that I got invited back this year though.

There are some discount coupons from the Outlet mall if you look a bit.

We did not book the ES and have a Hilton room for $110

Se ya at the start point. We might arrive for the ride but have Bfast before we leave. 100+ miles to that location.

Dew's z4 dude

14 cones is what we would need total. I can bring 1 cone. Will we need to rent the tarmack? Dews z4 was going to check to see if ant were left from last year.

What will anyone be bring as a munchie dish?
