Went for a roof down drive today exploring the Essex countryside. Past Ongar and Chelmsford qnd into Mountnessing then saw a signpost for a 15th century church, so decided to go and have a look.

The road was single track tarmac at first, then turned to gravel and it stopped outside the church with nowhere to turn. The ground looked pretty solid so went to turn around and just as I was about to pull away, it got stuck!

Eventually a guy and his wife walked along (this place is in the middle of nowhere) and offered to push, so made the other half drive whilst the men pushed.

Eventually got out, but the car now desperately needs washing everywhere. Theres mud all over the place, even inside :(

Good fun though, and a day i'll never forget.

Ha ha.. Dude look at my wheels! They've never been so dirty.. Well played. Glad you managed to self rescue.

Bloody hell Ben, I was in mountnessing/stock today for a spin about 1ish, cabrios everywhere top down, bet you felt a bit of a tool getting stuck  glad you got out ok

 yes, just a bit embarrassing! Had to retrieve a tree from my uncarriage afterwards also as it was scraping the tarmac.

Can't wait for the next lot of good weather now, jacked up, wheels off and pressure wash all that muck off :(
