At this point i'm stationary, only second time hazards came on automatically as i await the 2 car crunch.

Couple of years ago i told South Staffs council someone will get killed at this junction.
Look at the sign post that was from a week ago collision.
Now seen five cars in 2 years up the hedgerow, one was our regular postman's van.
2 cars easily doing 30mph plus. 2nd car racing the first.
 
Tjat could have been a massive collision.
Is the Give Way sign missing? The road markings are nearly invisible, it’s hardly surprising the crossing cars didn’t realise the other road has priority.
I’m not sure a single sign at the end of the road would be sufficient warning. Clearly people travel quickly along the crossing road. A sign 50m before the junction stating Give Way Ahead and then signs on both sides of the road at the junction would help. That, and restoring the road markings.
 
Agree there should be warning signs. However I seem to remember why I failed my first driving test in 1977 🧐 because wasn’t cautious enough at a junction where there were no ‘Give Way’ signs. …Not sure whether it is still covered in the ‘modern’ Highway Code’…. the subject of what to do at an ‘uncontrolled junction’ like this?
 
Where exactly is the crossroads? Can you send a Google maps location?

But yeah accident waiting to happen if the signs and road markings arent clear, id get it reported pronto.

Can some cones be commandeered from somewhere to at least mark a hazard?
 
3 odd years ago i contacted SS highways, at first excusse was budgets, etc.
So i said be it on someones conscious if someone dies.
Few months later new giveway signs and road markings.
Then about year or so road resurfaced and painted white lines.
With hot weather tarmac melted and markings as you see them.

Either close road, make it one way or chage to Stop junction.
Needs a few pot holes just before!
 
If you go through junction on Google earth you can see previous car parts.
Seem to leave bumpers for weeks.
I guess they gave up coming out to clear wreackage.

So that is why the road is named Morfe, i didn't know. At the end is Enville and what we call Enville hall.

Perhaps the best solution would be to cut the scraggly hedge down to a reasonable height or remove it altogether.

Perhaps the best solution would be for people to learn to drive and be more bloody careful.

I am very wary of Polos. They are usually driven by kids or coffin dodgers. Both make me nervous.

Of course they should, but given the law of universal incompetence, you have to make provision for idiocy and ineptitude.

Here, it’s Mercedes A200 hatchbacks. They’re cheap enough for young people to afford and the drivers always seem to have something to prove (perhaps to reconcile the feelings of inadequacy driven by not being able to stretch to an A45 AMG).
At the other end of the age spectrum, they seem to be driven by poorly sighted pensioners, who’ve presumably downsized in retirement.
It’s very specific to the A200 - A180 drivers always seem considerate and careful.
 
It’s a country lane, it has a 120m give way placard, there are hazard lines in the middle of the road..the limit points are obvious , the staggered nature of the junction are obvious…just looks like a muppet going too fast with low sun in their eyes and probably absent mindlessly taking visual cues from the preceding van…
