So who washed the car today?

As it finally stopped raining for five minutes I thought I'd get out and clean the car. Started with a good jet wash then washed using the two bucket method. Cleaned the wheels as the car was drying then dried it all off.
Then de-tarred it all and polished. Buffed exhaust tips, blacked the tyres and then a final high shine sealant, hoovered inside, cleaned all the glass and polished the dash.

Couple of quick snaps... Not very scenic but it makes such a difference having it clean for a minute... Although the drive to work was on some pretty filthy roads so I'm sure it won't last very long :)

I did a "Kev" detail yesterday:

Snowfoam
Wheels
2 Bucket Wash
Clayed
Wax

Took over 5 hours...wheels not brilliant, and claying took ages - car hasnt been done properly since October '12 and cant remember when last washed, so loads of crap and tar stuck to bodywork...front arches and side sills were buggers!

Didnt even touch the interior!

In the Stealer today...so I know there is no marks on bodywork...and new ones and they die!

How do you de-tar? I got some Valet Pro Glue & Tar remover which I sprayed on, left then pressure washed but didn't seem to do much, hence the long time with clay.

Hey Kevin

Mine took hours as well - it needed a good de-grime! Was really filthy and the arches were caked in mud. I've got the clay kit in the shed to do when it's a bit warmer and I can have a good day going over it all. I will also treat the hood again then as well.

As for de-taring, I used Autoglym stuff. use a clean, soft cloth over the tar marks and with a bit of elbow grease they break down and then dissappear. That took a while and I had to do the wheels with it as well, they were covered. Probably doesnt do them much good but my MV2's are knackered anyway so will either be refurbed or changed this year.

Started to wash mine yesterday. Then it started raining just as I finished the outside, so had to go in the garage wet.

Came home early from work today, just to ge her out the garage, dry her off properly and clean the inside, before dark. (How bad is my OCD?)

Now safely tucked away again, ready for next weekend. :D

Love the Cobra.

There were a couple of times when the clouds came over a bit dark and I thought the play would stop...

As for the OCD, I'd do the same so you might be asking the wrong person lol!

Thats were I went wrong then - I was hoping it would spray on, dwell then pressure wash off! Wasn't in it for the elbow grease!

My body was broken afterwards.....back killing me, legs sore and arms sore (really hurt when waxing!). I am so unfit, this was a shock to the system!

PS: I didn't say - yours looks good, especially like the interior shots of the black dash!

Lol, my arms certainly noticed it today! Who would have thought it provided such a full cardio workout lol

Thanks for the compliments on the car, I certainly enjoy it more when it's all cleaned up!
