So who has been driving in the snow ?????

It may not be you but the other idiot who thinks they have perfect adhesion and control, speaking from experience from January this year. Result, car off the road for two months for repair and still have a bad back!

Got her back today!! :D

The tyres are definitely making a difference but are by no means foolproof, I found the ABS kicked in a little too easily at the petrol station and the car carried on moving more than I expected, however, when I arrived at the parentals they were great and allowed me free and easy access to the drive.

The ultimate test will be getting off my own drive shortly, in bad weather it's normally easy to get on but impossible to get off. I've got on ok, but will be keen to see whether I am now trapped!

I had mine booked into get swapped back on to Runflats yesterday before it goes back and it was a bit But clenching, had a taxi driver up my chuff for some of the journey(tosser).I was been a bit over cautious the last thing i wanted to do was lose it and damage it.
The return journey was a bit easier but i soon remembered how bad the R/flats are back to crashy ride and tramlining

I did that too last night but the 2 inches turned out to be 6-8 inches and I promptly buried her!

Didn't take long to bite through it all and get on my way again though :D

I'm down in Cornwall this weekend and most of the roads are clear and girtted. About an inch has fallen in some places. Found some black ice on the smaller roads. Was impressed at how grippy the zed is, even on ice! Driving cautiously, smooth soft braking and acceleration, it hardly even lost traction. Last year I made it to the office during the snow spell. Got to work to find 8 inches of snow. The road was slushy and got a tank slapper going on a couple of times.

One bit of advice, going up hill, get up momentum before the hill. On the hill balance the throttle to hold momentum without spinning out. Once you break traction, you'll slow down and will be impossible to accelerate again grinding to a halt. Of course, that's only if you must go out in a rear wheel drive convertible in subzero conditions!

Good luck and be safe.

I set off this morning at 530, one of the first on the road, bit scary going down country roads. Thought I was driving badly till I realised I had hit the sports button, instead of the heat seating button. doh!

all this snow makes the driving alot more interesting :D iv been taking it steady most of the time but the really early morning and clear snow covered road was too much to resist a slight bit of sideways action :driving:

Just take it slow and be sensible. But when the opportunity arises get it sideways :)

The snow was just too bad here today so i went out in my girlfriends VW Fox 1.2 which didn't put a foot wrong on really quite bad roads.

I still had a play with it though but had to use the handbrake to get some sideways action going rather than using the go faster pedal like you can in the Z :D

I have to agree with this one! :D

Been out in mine over the weekend, the worst bit is getting it off my drive. So spent an hour shovelling the road and bought a few bags of sand to get me out. The main roads aren't too bad but just take it steady. It's the other tossers you have to watch out for, who think they can drive normally because they're not in a rwd sports car and they don't consider that the slightest bit of ice will send us sideways if we go too fast.

I'm dreading what my yard will be like when I get to work tomorrow. It was terrible last time and the car just slid allover it.

I'm considering looking at getting some winter tyres this week. Since it appears it's going to be like this for a while.

Just back home after 2 months in holland (in a van) horrified to find a foot of snow in Newcastle, A1 north was only just doable .....
Got home, looked at the Zed ...... radio said the A9 north was closed ..... didn't buy a hardtop to just sit in the driveway ...... oh yes  best fun Ive had all year ...... :D :D sideways round roundabouts, sideways on the throttle ..... excellent, its back at the house now, sanity has returned before I stuffed it in a hedge ...... some things you just gotta do ..............

Did the same after 150 miles today in works van (loads of numpties today going to slow and causing trucks etc to stop on motorway on and off ramps), I had to take car out for petrol for missus to use tomorrow. Brilliant fun opposite lock and noisy peddle on deserted roundabouts.
But tbh the car was pretty surefooted, traction kicking in if too many revs fed in, which I did a few times just to see.
Worst was the car park tonight at xscape but still managed to get parked.... Just.
Neighbour crashed into the wall of the orchard today trying to get up the hill by us in first gear, failing then sliding back down hill. After we dug her out I coasted up it in second no problem.

I got stuck on a hill when I had the 2.0 3 years back. I had 3 lads sit in my boot and the car managed to get up, haha

My car essentially beached itself this morning! Managed a very slow drive to work, literally no traction above 25-30mph. One guy overtook me and waved a fist at me - pillock! Then got to the car park at work where it stopped dead and blocked the road. We dug it out and managed to shift it but if it gets any deeper my car will be going nowhere. I think it's deep enough that even winter tyres won't help that much. Also saw an Aston DBS fighting through the snow this morning - very brave!

I did the smart thing this morning :D been snowing all night :D here, there's a big white hump in the driveway which I assume is the Zed ...... :D just took delivery of a front wheel drive rental this morning with all the extra insurance .......

My Z is sat on the drive still, took me an hour last night to just move it 10 meters from the front lawn to the drive. Thought about risking it this morning but then remember its not my driving i have to worry about but the other crazy people on the road.

Did see a Merlot Red Roadster on my walk into work though.

I thought I was going to have to get a lift to work this morning when I looked outside. But I decided to shovel the road and see if I could make it out. So I got my wellies on and spent 45 minutes shovelling my drive and road. Luckily there was still grit down underneath from putting it down on Saturday which helped. And I made it into work, albeit 50 minutes late but oh well!
