So what did you learn last year ? Share with us

s**t, I've learned bugger all again and I'm still a sad lonely git
I am sure that's not true! I am sorry your not happy. Your not lonely your hear with your mates :-) if your a git only you can fix that :-)

I have learned that:

I need to exercise more
I need to eat less
Red wine makes you forget the first two things
The Z4 was the right car
I can stay upright in a kayak on my own

Good health is merely the slowest possible rate at which one can die

I must try and suffer fools gladly.

Don't worry about old age; it doesn't last that long

Realised that:

1. It's best not to count up how much I spend on running two cars!
2. Agreeing to a road trip to Europe but not booking the time off work doesn't make you very popular!
3. Your kids are always your kids - bank of mum and dad is a bottomless pit
4. My fellow Countryfolk haven't the balls to act on the banter I have lived with for 50 years about wanting independence
5. Westminster political forces are frightening in action ( link to above )
6. You need to nurture the ones closest to you
7. The healing powers of a good hoon out with fellow zedders on a Sunday morning are massive!
8. Finally - you ain't going to be popular if you take fellow zedders on a trip including newly resurfaced loose chip road surfaces!!!!

I need to eat less and exercise more
Range Rovers are better when someone else owns them :headbang:

Oh and Jag F types arent depreciating fast enough

ive realised that its best to plough money into an apreciating asset (house) than it is to throw money at depreciating assets (cars)
Bit of a shame its taken me so long but thats life i guess.
regards

That i have struggled with for as long as i can remember & not sure after 46yrs how to change it :?
i have a very low threshold for dealing with idiots & find spending as much time alone as possible reduces my level of annoyance

I have also learned recently that it's best to come back to the forum and re-read a how-to, even if you've done the job before and think you know what you're doing. The result of not doing so is often quite expensive :headbang:

3. Friends are very important

indeed a great sentiment but sussing out the "true" friends often takes time or a certain situation :(
Many are there purely for a reason or a season but true friends for life do stand out when needed

I've learnt that yes a nice car is lovely and it's so nice to do what you want when you want, but at the end of the day you need someone there who loves you. Without that it's a very lonely life.

I have learned some painful lessons this year. You cannot do everything for others and they need to look after themselves.

Keep you friends close but your enemies closer. Jealousy is my biggest enemy from a person I thought was a friend.

Love, real love, has no limits. Just like a flower, if you look after it, it can grow. If you neglect it, it doesn't take long to start dying.

Looking after your family is everything. Good luck peoples..!!

A job that sounds great on paper can turn out to be very much the opposite...

Things do appear to happen for a reason.

Unsmoked bacon is better than smoked!

What have I learn't ?
Life:
1) The real troubles in your life are apt to be things that never even crossed your worried mind and are likely to blindside you at 4pm on some idle Tuesday.
2) Your Body is the best instrument that you will ever own. Use it and enjoy it every way you can.
(Both lines from Baz Luhrmann's wear Sunscreen)
Work:
3) Business is all about politics first, efficiency second.
4) Large Scale Employers do not appreciate loyalty or pride. You are just a number on an HR record.
5) The NHS seriously needs to look at itself and ask itself some questions.
Leisure:
6) Life speeds up, the older you get.
7) Sundays, Bacon, coffee and Zeds are a perfect combination to forget all about points 3-6 above
8) To make sure in 2015, I do more Zed trips with nice people.

Car-wise:

1. I will sorely miss my E86; those years were a once-in-a-lifetime experience

2. Modern FWD with a proper diff (Cupra280) can be fast, but not even half as raw or fun.

3. My automotive dreams don't reach beyond the new Cayman GTS, even though I've tried faster/more expensive offerings.

Work:

Back in 2001, I chose a freelance career. I've never been so glad it's always stayed that way.

People:

Marriage is not so bad, at least when after a rakish life you eventually realise that love, no matter how elusive and rare, does exist.

Bacon:

Being married and closing to 40, I can eat more bacon - I'm no longer obliged to observe those youth & bachelor standards.

Happy 2015 everyone.
