Many welsh folk on here i know so tell me what to expect

After a few week,s between contracts an offer/opportunity has arisen involving me working on the new student accommodation blocks being constructed .
Being 160 miles from home this would involve me staying over & a house has been provided just minutes from the sea front .
Can basically do as many days a week as i choose so i may at times stay weekends  now i haven,t set foot in Wales since childhood holidays in Abersoch so what can i expect from the delightfully sounding "Aberystwyth" ?

its a university town pubs can get busy some great roads in the area if you get time

I have looked the route up & the last hour or so look,s like a decent drive if the roads were quiet ?
i,m used to commuting in & around Manchester/Leeds,Bradford / M62/M6 etc so congestion is a killer , am i right in thinking the roads should be pretty traffic free ?
First trip down i,l have quite a bit of gear so will be the van but maybe the 330Ci next time after that ?

I remember a very fine naked breasted lady thrusting out to sea on the war memorial.

o
which is pretty impressive for a town of god fearing presbyterian burghers

i was in Wales over the weekend, constant speed camera warnings from my sat nav leading to complete paranoia..........beautifull scenery though

"So tell me about Aberystwyth"... used to go there in the 1970's, it's a dump-end of :)

Will be full of Welsh people.

'nuff said!

(you'll understand my comment when I tell you we moved to Wales when I was 12...English kid in a Welsh school...um, that was fun! got out asap!!!).

I think the road down to Rhyader, Builth Wells and Abergaveny is fantastic for a hoon if I remember correctly, as it follows the River Wye almost from it' source for miles and miles.

depending on your route there are some great roads. i dont go as far as aber but north wales/bala/evo triangle etc is where i go out in the westy loads.

which way are you thinking of going from up your way? m6, m56 mold, bala, ruthin, macnrgjkergrketh and then aberystwyth?

Leaving tomorrow 5pm heading to Chester then Wrexham / Oswestry / Newtown & Aberystwyth by 9pm hopefully , Van full of stuff the first trip but might go back in 330 the following week if parking is OK ? Accommodation is mins from sea front so not sure if that mean,s rowdy & rife with vandalism ?
I did a 4 month stint in Scarborough a few years back & get the impression the 2 seaside town,s have a lot in common ?

i would say aberysrsquryuth is less scummy than Scarborough. the mold ruthin bala roads are pretty much the same standard A road as the way you say but maybe a bit more fun, (probably not much in it) there are a couple that take you a little out of your way but worth it just for the fun of it but pretty much get you where you need be.

if its busy when you get to wrexham you can divert along the A5 easy enough.
