So simple sat nav location

I hate things that get in the way of looking through the front screen, cant abide dangly things and the like so where the hell do I put my sat nav cos I aint got one built in. Tried putting it with the sucker onto the screen bottom right, didnt like it there, tried other areas and it just seemed to get in the way.
Opened the little cubby hole on the dash top and wondered how I could get the Garmin to fit without sliding around so I put a strip of sticky, on one side, felt along the rear bottom edge of the sat nav but stuck it onto the little plastic mat which resides in the cubby hole. I put another smaller piece along the bottom front edge of the sat nav and stuck that to whatever was underneath and bingo. The sat nav fits nicely into the slot that I have created and is held in place by the lid which seems to open to just the right height.20191222_143050_resized.jpg20191222_143043_resized.jpg

I used some of the fairly hard floor protective pad we got with a Karndean kit. Just cut two strips and made a slot. Guess that two more pieces could be cut to close off the ends but on a recent trip to Bath from Bury the sat nav never moved.

The feed is to the cigarette lighter because i don't use the sat nav very often. Not convinced that a permanent live feed is ideal and When I finish with the sat nav I take it out and put it into its little case in the boot

Great solution.

I used to put mine in the cubby hole in my E87 1 Series, but my E90 3 Series doesn't have the cubby hole. :(

For me it was an issue coming from an X3 with everything to a Z4 with bugger all. Where to put it was a problem, for me that is, so putting it into the cubby hole provided by Mr. BMW was a perfect solution. When I have finished with it then it goes into its case out of the sight of thieving eyes in the boot
