so on quiet country roads.....

OK...so M is quite aggressive once it is spinning about 5krpm in 2,3,4 gears on winding country roads... for me (had car a week) and took it for hard drive today.... without incriminating myself I'd say, hypothetically, the car become tricky to handle in the 80+ range on B roads (apologies for UK road term).

and struggled with downsgifting smoothly for tight 2nd gear bends.. once in gear and accelerating out .....excellent but could have carried more speed through in hindsight.

comments appreciated......

The //M is not conducive to put into a lower gear until the chance of an over-rev is diminished :x Not sure why, but anticipating is not in the Z4M catalog for gear shifts, but it does save quite a few people from blowing their engines

Have a bit more chance to play, and you will find that it actually becomes more instinctive to rev match and downshift properly through the gears :)

I've noticed both your points on my Z4, the front-end of mine has been tamed a lot with the addition of a strut brace, the front is now more settled on rough roads, linking the two suspension turrets together restricts the movement of the front end both in terms rocking from side to side and up and down movement. The tyres are now much better keyed into the road. I was sceptical at first reading reviews on the web, but I’m converted now, a brace makes a lot of difference on lumpy tarmac

Downshifting in 2 nd gear, you need to give it plenty of revs, but even at 30mph in 2 nd gear it feels like it revving it’s tits off at about 4K. I’m still learning with the Z4 myself, so I I'll have to rev match better :)
