Gutted to be posting this but today I said goodbye to my zed

Been putting it off for months as Ive been needing something bigger to accommodate the new baby me and the wife are expecting in October and after listing for sale earlier this week today was the day it finally sold.

Happy to say its gone to a forum member and as it's his 3rd Z4 I am confident she's gonna be well looked after, he assured me there's a detailing session booked in for next weekend so it made me feel a little better about letting go.

She will be missed!

I did go pick up a new motor this morning a bit more family friendly 5 seats back doors etc.

Audi A3 2.0 TFSI S Line S Tronic quattro, complete change but after a test drive it was much less boring than I expected and much more comfortable than the Z4 so this is me for the next couple of years I guess.

I'm sure that won't be my last Z4 but probably a while before I'll be able to consider buying another. Still, plan to check in here when I can if only to see whatI'm missing, has been a great forum and so much help in my 3+ years of zed ownership.

Cheers!

Ran a few A3 / TT AUDI’s until dieselgate, great little motors, just watch the coil packs.

I have a Superchips remapper that u could pay to get reset for £100 to give the old girl quite a few extra ponies if ur happy to wait until September - PM if interested

Thanks, I was planning on remapping before I even bought it, will actually be slightly quicker 0-60 than my old 3.0 si Z4 with the remap :o but that was before I'd driven one properly and after a quick hoon on some back roads I'm actually pretty happy with the stock 200bhp. May well take you up on it in a couple months though once I get used to it, think I'll need to upgrade the brakes first though

I didn’t buy my zed until our twin girls were 2 years old. So had to use the wife’s car. A few years later when it became more of an issue the zed became my weekend and fun car as I bought an old 306 Diesel which actually cost no more to run as the cost offset from not putting petrol in the zed paid for the 306 runn8ng costs.
