Ahhh , the ever draining wallet syndrome of a Z owner :cry: you aren't the first , won't be the last but at least its enjoyable :thumbsup:

looks good with the stubby :thumbsup: nice plate as well. what colour are you getting your mv2s done in?.

Sry off topic but can you explain private plates. Here in the US you either get what's given, or you can pick whatever you want and pay a yearly fee. Unless you picked v23 stv, I don't get why its private. Can you explain for me? I love my z4 because I get to learn about european auto industry lol

It's chosen and bought for a one off fee although there are administration costs when taking it on or off a vehicle. You are allowed to display any plate on your car as long as it doesn't make it look younger than it is. We used to use X000 XXX and now it's XX00 XXX. The first letter used to be the age identifier and last three letters related to where it was first registered. There are shorter plates with less numbers and less commonly less letters and these are desirable as 'personalised plates' because they look nicer. Other people buy things that look like words and start playing with spacing and screws to make it look more like something. This is illegal but many get away with it as it's enforced but not heavily.

The new system uses the numbers as an age identifier. The old system used to run in reverse so XXX 000 X. They were going to carry on flipping it but it wasn't creating enough plates as more cars were made and less were scrapped so soon.

Looks great fella.

the beauty of the zed is there is almost a standard procedure to follow;

stubby
LED bulbs
non RFT's
ZHP knob

then they're pretty much done! Its great! They are literally 'complete' then :)
