...... thought i would pop over in my lunch hour and have a quick chat to the service guys about why my coolant wasnt topped up as part of my service and was told that they only replace and top up what needs doing at the time as opposed to doing everything whether it needs doing or not :?

so on my way out, i ask to speak to a sales person about what they can offer me if i traded in my z4 as i was just a bit curious. after a bit of talking, i was negotiating on a brand new 35is with the same spec as mine but i want red instead of white this time round. they should present me with the some figures later today and then i get to decide whether i say yes or no. i still have 10 months to run on my pcp so am not fussed either way but will be interesting to see if they make me an offer too good to refuse :D

Scenario....so your coolant runs low & you overheat at some point in the near future, pretty poor argument from a dealership IMHO.

Good luck with the new car figures.

The support from bmw for a 35is is pretty awesome at the moment and we are bearing the end of q2 make sure you push for a good deal and your at a good point in your pcp for changing. What miles and term are you doing it over? I sell bmw so If your on a 3/4 year pcp you should be breaking even or coming out with some form of equity now.

thanks guys. yeah i have to get one of these before production ends. i will be sad to see the e89 go as i think it is a fabulous looking car and the 35is is the pinnacle of e89 ownership.

i did think it odd that they only serviced the parts that needed replacing and nothing else but i guess that is how they make money from the service packs as it seems like a cheap option but they end up doing very little when the service comes round

i was on a 3 year pcp with it coming to an end in 10 months. i have about 2.5k equity in the car. i have asked them to match the broadspeed.com (31.6k) price as well as meeting the pcp payments i am making now on the 20i. so effectively i will be getting a 35is for the same price as i have been paying on the 20i for the past 2 years. they will take back my 20i and i would have to add the cost of the optional extras to my deposit and nothing else

i will be doing 8k miles and a 3 year term again

ooh red (with black leather??) nice!
I may be a bit thick here, but how can they possibly get the monthly payments on a £32k car the same as you are paying on a £25k car without wanting a hefty deposit or negative equity on the balloon sum?? The interest rates can't have changed that much in two years?

i am gonna be different and go for red with red leather. i know it sounds odd but im sure it will look fine and i will be one of a handful with that combo

well the list price of my 20i was 36k with a dealer deposit of 5k and a pcp discount of 4k. this time round i will have to pay around 2k deposit, maybe 4-5k equity on my car and then they will add on some other discounts to get it down further to improve their quarterly figures. they suggested it was possible rather than poo poo it, so until i see what they propose, i cant really say what the deal will be or whether i will go for it

I was pleasantly surprised with the trade in value on the Zed at 2 years which is halfway through my PCP, it comfortably paid the PCP off. Was surprised mainly because of the generous dealer contribution at the time so haven't really lost that much all things considered.

Theres some pretty good deals in the F type at the mo :)

Tim.

i wouldnt mind an f type but i would prefer the bang for buck the 35is gives with the high discount

ive had no come backs from the dealer so far so my interest is cooling and im not gonna chase them as i have no real need to, can easily trade in my e89 for a decent return or stick with it until the 10 months expires

they finally got back to me late afternoon yesterday asking me to pop in to see if we can do the deal

unfortunately their figures were a little off so i wont be upgrading at this moment in time

I've had this before, dealer says 'I can get you in a new car for the same as you're paying now, I'll knock some figures up and come back to you'....two days later 'yeh we have a yellow one in stock with walnut interior that we can do for the same money.......and only £5K deposit'......fuc# off!!! :headbang:

haha that was almost exactly how it was but to be fair the car they had in stock just had too many options on it so it had a book price of £52k

i just told them that was not the deal i was after right now and am happy to hold onto mine :)

Envy deals to be had at the moment. I have just taken delivery of mine. 52k it's loaded, but I got almost 15k off it :D

I wonder if the reason is they've had such great deals and great take up that they've made this months target? It's coming to the end of the month so if they aren't pressing then most possibly. Next month they might come knocking.
